What would you call it then? I didn't get to see it played, and was making shoddy assumptions. Could you describe it for us, until the decklist appears?

i call it "pure beef"

The Texas regional event did happen this past weekend, right? I haven't seen a word about it...has anyone heard anything?

I don't think anyone affiliated with that group, or the regional going on in Chicago this weekend, are regulars on the board.

I'm going to Chicago this weekend actually, but I have absolutely no idea what I'll find when I get there (since I'm new and no one else from there seems to keep up with these forums.)

That's pretty close to what I'd call it. Though I might call it something else from a male bovine.... gran_risa.gif

I wouldn't call the GJ wildling deck control at all.

I know some people would call it Tempo control, but I'd call it disruption. It isn't really about controlling a bunch of things seeking to lock your opponent down so much as disrupt everything they try to do, try to plan for. Breaking things up.

Had a lot of stealth in that deck, & claw Isle seemed awfully important. Certainly not classic rush, but I felt I was set up pretty good on the board when Shives got to 15 against me. I'd side more towards rush than control - but our game may not have been typical.

If you were to match the deck to a magic archetype I would call it "Wildling Stompy" The disruption package is fairly small. 3 Climbing spikes, 1 Aegons Hill, and a single River Blockade. The deck won games by playing 3-4 characters that were just better then your opponent's dudes. I would shy away from rush simply because you couldn't claim power all that quickly outside of rise of the kraken.

So, in short, I will call it Wilding Stompy though it is Nate's design and certainly his to name.

Not too belabor you with random requests, but if there's any way you could get a list of the plots used by the winner, that would be fantastic!

Sorry for so many requests...if it's easier to have the TO send the info, that also works. I've tried contacting the game store directly (with the email listed on the FFG regionals page), but haven't receive a response.

Thanks!

You sure you meant Claw Isle, and not something else? Claw Isle is House Bara only.

Any chance you can get a breakdown of the houses/agendas that are run, along with the houses/agendas who make the top 4, the winner's name (and house/agenda/restricted card)?

I will do my best to get as much of the information as I can, I plan on doing a TR too (I'll talk to the TO and see if I can get decklists etc.)!

TofuBones and I are currently planning on going to the Chicago Regional. Ktom is iffy at this point.

Just seemed wrong to go 4 hours for a Regional, but not go 1.5 hrs to another.

I'll look forward to meeting you!

He meant Masey's Hook.

Any idea on when we should expect the final results from the US Regional season? Not trying to rush you, I know it takes time. I appreciate your willingness to compile all this information. I'm just wondering if my perceptions of the season match the data.
