So I was looking over the cards with "Maester" traits and some form of "Maester"-friendly effects of other cards and have discovered that Martell has the most number of "Maester" cards, in addition to the neutral house additions from Gates Of The Citadel & Queen Of The Dragons.
With 5 Maesters total at Martell's disposal, plus the two new Neutral Maesters from GOTC... Is it possible at this point in time to make a viable Maester Deck out of the Martell house? It's obvious Martell deals with "losing to win", so being at a disadvantage (technically) with not having a lot of Maesters to play with it becomes beneficial to run Maesters out of Martell to utilize their Events that deal sufficient feedback to losing challenges. On top of this, right now there is only 2 "Chain" attachments, but you get 3 of each of them in GOTC. Most decks I see only run about 10-15 Attachments at the most. So using all 6 of the Chains plus a few extra Martell attachments for good measure, it could fill in the void. It just all comes back to the severe lack of locations. However, filling in the major gap with gold producing, influence giving locations might make up for it.
So, I'm curious. With this in mind, which is absolute common knowledge I know. Do you think it's at all possible to create a viable Maester deck right now?
