I have noticed that the archaeotech laspistol has the accurate quality, which make it more likely to hit when aiming. The "accurate" quality can also improve the damage, but only for basic weapons, so the laspistol would be excluded. Is this correct? There is only a weapon both basic and accurate that would qualify for the extra damage, and it looks weird that a general rule can only be used with full effect a single weapon weapon. Besides, the archaeotech laspistol works like a "sniper pistol", as it's long-ranged and you can brace it like a rifle.
Archaeotech laspistol and "accurate"
Rules as written, you are correct. Pistol class weapons simply do not get the extra damage. This affects things like the Wrath-pattern Plasma pistol as well as the Archaeotech laspistol. (Mind you, the Wrath is still a nice weapon!)
I'm not sure if this passes a reality check... Based on my rather limited personal experience, it is much easier to hold a rifle steady than it is to hold a pistol steady; but then again I am a poor shot with a pistol so it may just be me.
Cheers,

If you are saying that it's weird that there is only one weapon that gets the full benefit from accurate, you are wrong. Flip over to the exotic weapons table on page 128, you will see the Needle Rifle is also basic and accurate. There are also plenty of accurate basic weapons in other books.
I also note that the fluff for the Archaeotech laspistol include mention of a folding stock, which allows for more accurate two-handed fire. Maybe add a house rule that allows a character to attach one and convert it into a basic weapon ?

As has been pointed out, RAW, the Accurate quality with pistol means you get to bonus to BS but no extra damage. However, in the case of the "Near Unique" archeotech pistol, I would be inclined to be generous and allow the additional 1d10 dmg / 2 degrees of success. The folding stock in the "fluff" for the weapon seems to hint at that and besides: it's NEAR UNIQUE!! A super-pistol, in my books, Our Rogue Captain uses an Archeotech pistol and our GM has allowed him to "treat it as basic." We haven't found it broke our game or anything and it really helps underscore that it's something very special.
(for the record: the needle pistol and needle rifle are worlds appart with the RAW. It's likely to be really hard to score a precise enough hit to score damage on anything wearing clothing with a needle pistol wheras the extra "punch" of the Accurate Basic Needle gun makes it a much better weapon. We're planning on test driving treating all Accurate pistols as doing extra dmg on degrees of success.)
