Scenario 5: Game Flaw ( Infinite Threat )

By RobbyReb, in Mansions of Madness

Hi, Ive never posted before but after a late night game i found what I consider to be a game damaging flaw. I can't assume this is as intended, and my mind may be driven towards combo/exploitation do to years of TCGs but here it is.

Evil Presence: 1 Threat

Action: Draw 1 Mythos card and 1 Trauma Card.

Witchcraft: 2 Threat

Action: Discard any number of Mythos and/or Trauma cards. Gain 1 threat for each card discarded. Less Importantly Then choose an investigator. He tests willpower -2. Fail: Place a witch in his space.

If you haven't seen it yet don't play magic, but here's how it played out last night as me and a friend talked it out.

Ok, so, 3 player game. Starting 1 Mythos Card, 3 Threat, go!

Turn 1: Players: Do stuff.

Turn 1: Keeper: Use 3 threat to activate Evil Presence 3 times, Draw 3 Mythos and Trauma bringing my hand to 4 Mythos and 3 Trauma. (Keep in mind the maximum hand size of 4 Mythos and 4 Trauma)

Turn 2: Players Do some more stuff, cool.

Turn 2: Keeper: Ok here it comes get ready for some non-seance. Gain 3 threat, spend 2 activate witchcraft. Discard 7 cards to witchcraft to gain 7 threat and resolve witch craft. Now Activate Evil Presence 4 Times using 4 threat, gain 4 Mythos and 4 Trauma. Now spend 2 to activate Witchcraft and discard 8 cards to it again for 8 more threat and resolve witchcraft. Did you notice the 2 Threat spill over each time? Repeat, repeat, repeat, repeat, repeat, repeat.......

This is covered by the Errata:

Witchcraft Keeper Action Card: The second sentence on
this card should read Action: You may discard 1 Mythos or
Trauma card to gain 1 Threat. (The keeper may not discard
as many cards as he wants to gain threat).
