Combining many extension.Need some clarification.

By Saikoro, in Arkham Horror Second Edition

In the Innsmouth rulebook(and other extension) theres a special rule you need to consider when combining more than 1 big extension: You reduce the player by 1 passed the first extention you add. This is to reduce dificulty since you have more board to cover. BUT what is the limit of this rule? Ill make a quick example youll understand:

So lets pretend we are 6 investigator playing with ALL extension boards(Dunwitch,Kingsport,Innsmouth). So I need to play it like its a 4 players game since (Arkham+dunwitch)= 6 - (Kingsport+Innsmouth)= 4 player game. I know from the rulebook you use that number of player for:

-Outskirt

-Arkham monster limit

But what is the limit of that rule? Its not stated elsewhere.

1-Do I have to do 4 success(instead of 6) to hit in the Final Battle?

2-Do I put 1 monsters on opening gates?(you put 2 monsters in a 5+ players game)

3-When a ''Rumors'' pops during Mythos phase, how much players should I consider in play?

4-Any other things I forgot?

Thx in advance!

1 - Still need 6 successes. (100% sure)

2 - Yep 1 monster per gate. (95% sure)

3 - Don't know. Would say 6 but not sure at all.

You forget that when playing Dunwich + Innmouth its another -1 investigators. So in a game with 6 investigators, playing with Arkham + Dunwich + Kingsport + Innmouth, you are really only counting 3 players. Arkham + 1 EXPANSION = 6; + 1 expansion = -1 inv; + 1 expansion = -1 inv; + 2 of the expansions are Dunwich and Innsmouth = -1.

This limit is counted for monster limit, monsters in the outskirts, how many gates must be open until AO awakens.

1-No. It never affects the final battle.

2-Yes, you'll only put 1 monster on each gate.

3-I do not believe it affects rumors. At least I never have or will since rumors have nothing to do with investigator position on the board, so 1 investigator can be in Innsmouth, 1 in Dunwich, 1 in an OW, and the other 3 in Arkham and the rumor's affects do not change. Plus it allows for a bit more of a challenging game.

Musha, you are mistaken. It is -1 for each expansion board beyond the first. All three boards counts a 6-investigator game as only 4-investigator.

The rule you're thinking is that when both Dunwich and Innsmouth are in play, the gate limit is increased by 1.

3. I don't have any reason to believe that rumors are not affected. Many rumors that scale like these require investigators to travel to the rumor spot. With multiple boards in play, there is an increased chance that investigators are far away on other boards. So it makes sense that rumors are affected by the investigator handicap.

With some rumors, you need to put on it some dollars depending on the number of players. He may think of those ones.

Sorry, my two comments were independent. To Musha I was stating that the max handicap was -2.

To Saikoro I was saying that I do think that the rumors are affected, because it's likely that many investigators will be too far away to help out.
