Has this happened to anyone else when opening boxes?

By FenMiHuo, in UFS General Discussion

This is the second time this has happened to me. I buy a few boxes of the same set, and pull identical cards (at least as far as the rares and URs are concerned, I dont pay much attention to the commons and uncommons that closely)

I just opened 2 boxes of Warriors Dreams and literally I pulled the exact same 6 URs (and not any of the good ones) and its just annoying >_> same thing happened to me with the first 2 KoF boxes I bought, thats why I didnt buy anymore after that. At least if I had gotten Hoyoku-Sens or Spinning Beats which I was hoping for that woulda been one thing, but it always happens with bad UR's :-(

I'm just wondering if anyone has had similar experiences and how they felt about it?

Oh yeah, I bought so many boxes of Higher Calibur looking for super rare Cassandra, didn't pull a single one but had (I think) more than a playset of super rare Astaroth and Terror Moon (which suck btw).

I think it happens because they make boxes in batches, so if you get a few boxes in the same batches you stand a reasonable chance to get a lot of the same cards. If you can make the time it might be an idea to buy one box from one location and another from a second location.

This happens because UFS clusters its boxes. Each set has three different boxes that contain the same 6 UR's in them. Godpacks change this up a bit and sometimes you will get a completely random box. I personally hate clustering, as when you open your first UR of the box, you know what all the rest are going to be. :(

Wow I did not know that, that really turns me off to buying boxes, I guess I'll just stick to singles on the second hand market

Hm, that's interesting. I know when we bought our big order of boxes, my two boxes of each set didn't have any of the same SR's in them. My roommate's SNK boxes, however, had 6 SRs in them and 4 of them were the same from each box (Raising Storm, Annu Mutsube, Self Confidence, and Kim's Dojang).

Didn't know they clustered the box pulls. You learn something new every day =/

I don't open boxes much, but I did pull 2 "The curse of immortality"'s in the same pack last week.

Wow, someone cracked the code!

This hasn't happened to me, but it did happen to at least one of our local players. He tried really hard to pull Addes, buying around six boxes, and he didn't get a single Addes from them ( I think ). Instead, he got something like a playset of Begin Anew and a few sets of other specific rares/SRs. Whatever the exact story was, it was apparent that boxes are packed/shipped according to some pattern.

Same thing happened here, 2 players opened their SNK05 box and got the exact same 6 URs but other boxes were different. I think the problem of opening the same 2 common in the same pack is becoming more and more common, I've seen a few cases, even with the new sets.

So the lesson here is don't buy more then one box from the same shipment (unless the box was awesome).

Sorry to dissapoint you but no code has been cracked. I have seen many different distribution of super rares of the new sets and didnt experience it myself out of multiple boxes

Twice in our meta have 2 of the same Super Rare been pulled in a box that everyone wanted. Once with Cutting Edge, when someone pulled 2 Addes Syndicate, and again in Realm Of Midnight, when one cheeky bugger managed to pull 2 Feline Spikes at once. I think there is a general pattern occasionally, and that quite a few boxes do have the same SR's in them, but I wouldn't call it a rule.

This happened to me last set. I bought 2 boxes of each set and the URs and rares were the exact same besides 2 rares. It would have been alright if I pulled good cards but I got mostly total crap.

Exactly! But even if the cards were good I'd be happy, but still kinda annoyed that there was no variety

No but i didn't get any god packs and one random packs with 2 rares that was about it but I did get 2 chasmatic's in one box which was ****.

TERROR MOOR DIDN'T SUCK!

...

So anyways, try buying the boxes from different places. I've heard it's a thing of sorting and there's a big possibility for duplicate boxes in the same case. Try buying from different sources next time and see how that fares.

This makes a lot of sense, I bought three boxes and opened up 3 Feline Spikes and 3 Cat's Reflexes in a row, the SR's seemed to have a pattern, because i didn't open ANY ira-spintas, darkness blades, midnight pleasures, or others.

It sucked. It sucked long and hard, and I think there was some side-to-side action as well.

Easiest bet it to stagger when you buy your boxes, buy one box a week/month/location etc, hopefully you'll get some variety. Of course, if it was a good box, then fire away.

I liked doing Bringing the Master to his Knees, block responses, then play Bludgeoning Crush, Absurd, Astaroth's E for +6 damage, then gain 12 vitality off of Terror Moon.
