I'm a Convert

By Mathias Fricot, in 1. AGoT General Discussion

I was never on the Narrow Escape hate train, but consider me the newest member. When I can't get character reset against Bara Knights three games in a row and seven Narrow Escapes later, its a negative play experience.

Overall the game night turned out alright after I dusted off my control deck and ate my hand turn 2 to cancel his NE. I slowed him down until turn 8 when I could get in the lock.

/End Rant

~Better late than never.

Just pitch your hand! :)

But it's restricted, which solves the problem forever. Imagine if your opponent had Narrow Escape AND Fury of the Stag.

A nightmare scenario with absolutely no equal. I'm literally shivering just thinking about it.

So you are complaining because you won, just not as quickly, or was it just that you didn't win multiple games?

What exactly are you bitching about.

You, ser, are a funny man. I see why your card hast he flavor text it does. :P

Was this a melee game? Or do you mean 7 NE's over the course of three games?

I think that's alright...~2 per game. That means you have a pretty good chance of paper shielding one of them, and paper shielding a NE is pretty big.

I'm not disputing that NE is powerful, and arguably over powered, but I don't think it's typically OP when played out of Bara. In fact, I think it's pretty much the Martell + NE that really pushes it onto the restricted list.

Guess I'm not quite a convert yet...maybe I'll come around.

And Val and a certain Giggly Storm and a Lanni draw attachment and... gui%C3%B1o.gif

Yeah, NE and Vipers Bannermen is gold. Out of Bara, NE is certainly good, but it's taken a knock with the re-introduction of Paper Shield. Not to mention the restricted list. In a control build or a delayed rush build, TLS is probably better. In an extreme rush build, NE tends to slow you down a bit, which has always been a drawback in these builds. Currently I'm experimenting with a Knights deck that uses Cache as the restricted card. Too early to tell, really. Looks interesting, though.
