Do turrets count as a damagable component?

By Hygric, in Rogue Trader Rules Questions

Like the title says, would you let a ships turret rating be selectable as a component to be damaged by crits?

Considering the fact that a ship is studded with at least dozens of different turrets scattered over all sides of the hull to give as much protection as possible it seems illogical to me. A critical hit might rip of a part of a ship and a few turrets, but can not really be expected to shear all the close in turrets from the whole hull. Furthermore, as rules go, they are a given, not a component. That being said, it makes flak turrets a legitimate target. So, as an in between solution that allows you to degrade the anti-torpedo and attack craft ability of a ship, you could make flak towers a legitimate target for crits and leave turrets out of it.

FvR, Navigator Primus, Heart of the Void

Nothing in the rules that allows you to.

But turrets are scattered all over the ship as already mentioned. A cruiser can easily have hundreds of them all over his hull. Taking them all out with a lance strike seems strange. Itd mean critical damage on pretty much every single section along the hull after all.
