Is there ever a "current date" given for Dark Heresy? I can find several mentions of "for three hundred years" or "two centuries ago" or other such descriptions, but there's never a date given in the XXX.M41 format in the rulebook or the Inquisitor's Handbook. Is it ever given anywhere?
Dark Heresy date
In the "Support" section you can find the official Dark Heresy timeline:
www.fantasyflightgames.com/ffg_content/dark-heresy/pdf/timeline.pdf
It says that the current date line is 815.M41.
If you're interested, some time ago I asked a question similar to yours: www.fantasyflightgames.com/edge_foros_discusion.asp?efid=101&efcid=3&efidt=470563
Thanks for that! Was a great help! I was wondering what would happen if a campaign was set in the Age of Apostasy, but it's likely that the political situation would be entirely different. Oh well, the info was informative!
My own game is more current to the overall 40K timeline (very, very early M42) since the official Calixis Sector timeline puts the date about the time of Eisenhorn's adventures and WAY before the Gaunt's Ghosts, Ciaphus Caine and 13th Black Crusade storylines. As popular as this material is it was just NOT going to be "pretend that never happened, because that has not happened yet" with my group. Since I tend to re-write the player handouts in the published adventures anyways it is very simple to just change the dates.
But what do you then do about when system/sector governments are supposed to change and the like? As much as I'd like to do something in the Age of Apostasy, just cutting and pasting Haxx et al into that era just wouldn't seem right to me.
And on a complete sidenote, how do you switch on email notifications for these forums (sorry, noob)?

Glad of having been of any help!
