Artifacts

By Volkazz, in Anima: Beyond Fantasy RPG

new game; I have not run Anima before. The players are low ranking members of Black Sun.

One player has drawn up an Abelese nobleman Mentalist. With a two point Artifact.

Do people think this is fair:

[name] An oddly shaped crystal medallion

1) +10 Psychic Projection

if held to eye:

2) +10 notice,

3) +10 search,

4) weird display seeming to pick out detials of things highlighted and provides some form of description in a forgotten language

with some further bonuses to come over time dependent on how he uses it.

The item is actually a lens from an ancient psi-trooper helmet.

any comments?

I think the artifact idea is really cool. I haven't read any rules on artifact creation (I think there are some in a book that I don't have yet, but there aren't any in the main rule book) But it sounds like a 1 point artifact to me.

For 2 CP you can get something really cool like the ability to cast magic.

I agree a 2CP artifact should be far more powerful. Like this its ok for 1CP probably.

By the way, the idea is very cool.

Thanks.

How does this sound:

[name] An oddly shaped crystal medallion

1) +20 Psychic Projection

2) +1 Psychic point (with some limits on uses)

if held to eye:

3) +10 notice,

4) +10 search,

5) +10 track

6) weird display seeming to pick out detials of things highlighted and provides some form of description in a forgotten language

with some further bonuses to come over time dependent on how he uses it.

Thanks for any input,

V.

I think it sounds way cool. I have to say (at least with the books I own, which is most of the ones published in English) there is very little instuctions on how to make artifacts. But yours sounds good.

That's much better. The psychic point provided by the crystal might be a "free psychic point" (I mean you cannot sped it in a definitive way, but you can spend it for temporary uses).

Thanks all.

PS - Gah! is there any way to remove the automatic double spacing - I keep doing it manually!
