Call Their Bluff

By gaseki, in 2. AGoT Rules Discussion

Hi,

I've just got the core set in post, didn't have chance to play, but I checked out the cards, and I've got a question about Call Their Bluff. It says to name a card. Do they mean the exact name, like Northern Fiefdoms, or maybe the trait, like Lord or what? I know that it might sound stupid, but naming a specific card would be for me really silly.

It is the exact name

Note that there are also a lot of cards that force an opponent to reveal a card in their hand. For example, if your Stark opponent uses "Winterfell Kennels" to search their deck for a Direwolf card and put it into his/her hand or your Targaryen opponent uses "Dance with Dragons" to do the same thing with a Dragon, you can name the card they just showed to you, then make them discard it.

There is also the important fact that your opponent must reveal his hand to you. Whether you discard a card from it or not, it could be really nice to know what is in their hand.

Does anyone actually play with this card? It seems so weak compared to other options. Yes, its great to look at someone's hand and possibly discard a card or two, but unless you've seen them return a card to their hand during Challenges (Pinch of Powder or Retreat or something), it seems like a poor substitute for Confession. Since it can only be used during Dominance it can't be used to discard anything they got during Marshaling, Summoning Season, etc unless the opponent chose not to play the card the round they got it...
