Baratheon Draw Engine

By shadow stag, in 4. AGoT Deck Construction

Since I'm getting back into the game and crafting a new deck, what's the now most effective Baratheon/Neutral draw engine?

Baratheon is still kind of severly lacking in draw... a Summer deck with the Agenda + Gilly and Samwell is probably going to provide the best draw or most reliable draw. Threat From the East will be useful once the Targ box is out (is it out yet?). The best in-House options are probably Battle at the Wall and R'hllor's Blessing - I'm a big fan of Battle at the Wall, but that may just be me. I personally don't think much of King Robert's Debt, the Renly that lets you draw when a Power Struggle plot is in play, Ruby of R'hllor, or Lucky Bones, though others may disagree with me. King's Landing is always a good choice since Bara has a lot more in-House locations with the King's Landing trait than the other Houses, maybe a bit expensive for some decks though.

The Laughing Storm with Threat From the East, Renly from The Raven's Song with Power Struggle plots, and Battle at the Wall all in one deck imo.

Knights of the Realm agenda!

Definitely run laughing storm. Rhllors blessing isnt bad. Knights agenda.

Glad to see something things never change. Baratheon still can't efficiently draw. Looks like it's gonna be Dragon's Tail again.

Knights of the Realm agenda!

^Seriously the way to start.

I agree on the Knights agenda... I built a Knight Bara rush deck, and it was seriously lacking in Int challenges, so I thoght I would have a problem losing cards in my hands, then I added the agenda and haven't had a problem with it since. Try it out.

The most reliable one, which takes the least space out of your deck for useless cards: Knights of the Realm

- Can easily be combo'd with The Laughing Storm and Threat from the East. Works also very well with say Knight of The Flowers and Ser Eldon Estermont for Rush.

For Shadow/Asshai builds: Kings of Summer

- Priestess of the Pyre is anyways one of the best cards for hand-destruction builds (Confession without having to kneel), and shadow builds benefit from the added gold. Starting plot choices can get a bit hairy when running both City of Lies and A Time for Ravens however. Can be supplemented with Sam and the Carrion Birds quite nicely. I wouldn't go with King's Landing due to the extreme cost.

The others:

Renly - A decent cheap noble, and can help with draw in Noble Rush Builds, but not really 'an engine'.

Battle at the Wall - Can be good if you're running lots of vigilant, renown and stands to pull the game off fast.

R'Hllor's Blessing - Decent, but no engine.

King Robert's Debt - Too conditional.

Lucky Bones - In decks that WANT cards in the discard pile (Say Who is Stronger, Royal Entourage, Pyre of the False Gods) this can actually be pretty decent. But if you aren't building with recursion in mind, might not be worth it.

Val - Nuff' said.

Widow's Watch OOH - Could work, haven't tested, but...

Pyromancer's Cache OOH - ...I would rather run 3 of these instead. May require running Alliance (the plot), but works nicely with it. Tested this more in a Martell Rush with 3xCache, 1x Tommen, 1x Myrcella with Alliance and it seemed to work very nicely as an engine. Together with Knights of the Realm could easily hit the draw cap consistently.
