Physica terrain

By Silverwings, in Tide of Iron

Hi all,

I'm looking into buying some terrain to put on the board.

I found some interesting paper terrain and some resin products.

The question is:

Go for 6mm or 10-12mm terrain?

Which looks and handles best in your opinion?

Thanks in advance for sharing info,

Silverwings

I think it largely depends on what you're going to do with it. If you're also going to bring in mini's from other places like the WTM models or other 12mm or 1:144 scale stuff then you'll want something with 3" (7.62cm) hexes. If you're planning to use the existing bits of kit then you want something with 2" (5.08cm) hexes.

It's not as much a hex-terrain that I want to get.

I'ts more like buildings etc... to add some flavor to the game.

I already own some WTM and axis&allies figures to play.

Then I think 10mm is probably the closes scale though putting buildings and stuff on the board could be crowded unless they have flat roofs that you can stack units on top of. I thought about collecting a bunch of the razor wire and tank traps from the A&A minis for this purpose which did add to the look and cool factor of the game but ultimately came to the conclusion that it just made the hexes too crowded.

You are probably right about the crowded hexes.

I will give it a try with the 10mm paper terrain buildings. They look good and are not expensive.

Thanks for the advice.

Where can I get these paper buildings?
