Card Protectors

By agduncan, in Warhammer Fantasy Roleplay

Hi there,

I have a few questions about card protectors. I personally use the FFG card protectors for everything - I have all the action/talent cards in a binder and as I take them out I sleve them. I also have all my wound / chaos / insanity / disease etc. in protectors permenantly. The problem I am having is that my wound pile is now about 1" - 2" high and it has become unstable. As I draw cards the entire pile can come spilling down.

How do people deal with this?

I have a multi-teir business card holder that I use for Arkham Horror and that works well, but the wound stack is too thick for that and the protectors tend to make them want to pop out.

I have tried storing most of the wounds in the box and only having a small, immediate pile to draw from, but it's just annoying and the players complain that not all the cards are being used (although they are)

Thoughts? Suggestions? Petitions to have FFG create a multi-track protector friendly mini-card dealer's shoe?gran_risa.gif

I have all cards in FFGs plastic sleeves and have the large player cards and all the smaller ones stored in 2 LOTR collector boxes. The GM cards are put in the Creature vault box.

Instead of stacking them, have you tried a draw-box setup with them on end (like a cranium or pictionary...etc setup). Raid one of those boxes (even though the width might be too large), or find a similarly sized one and voila. All your wound cards in one spot. I have mine sleeved and set into a Plano organizer and it has worked for me just fine, but if you want to have more portability then you need to seek out a smaller box.

OR you can be a hero and build one out of Lego, which I may now do when I get home from work tonight : )

It was obvious and right in front of me... I was thinking of a shoe or a way to store the cards in a stack and I should have been thinking trivial persuit.

Cheers man, great advice

I have card protectors for all my cards. Recently I found some A6 sleeves as well. The career cards fit in there, but they are slightly too big, so the career cards don't fit in my boxes with them on. At least they can be used when the cards are on the table :)

I use card protectors for the "player" action cards and store them in a box sort of thing. Then players can look through those at their leisure. In addition, I keep all my GM action, monster and location cards organized in sleeves. I draw out what I need and put them in sleeves. As for the little cards, I only put the career and talent cards that are in use in sleeves. The rest just sit in a little box.

I don't bother putting wounds/miscasts/insanities in sleeves. Though, if one became permanent, I would then issue a sleeve.
