Can you help my friend with his Brotherhood army?

By Cyborgtrucker, in Mutant Chronicles

Two of the owners of my FLGS are players of MC. One of them has bought two boxes of the Brotherhood and is concerned with playing against me "because I don't have the powerful figs like you do". I play Dark Legion and Bauhaus. But he's worried because he doesn't have named uniques that I'm going to roll over on him like a fat hooker on a skinny trick. Personally I wouldn't compose my Dark Legion force with such powerful units as named uniques mostly cause I try to avoid being a huge ****, besides it makes having repeat players so much easier.

So when dealing with the Dark Legion who have some powerful multi-wound beasts what tactics do you use with the Brotherhood? What units do you like to use in your forces?

Thanks for any help ahead of time.

one of the brotherhood boxes is choke full of demon hunters that get all kinds of extra stuff against demons. they are: mortificator shadow (2 in the box)& sacred warrior

against non demons look to use mortificator master/hammer of judgment to take out problem units. fury elite guards die easy, but give damage on the way out in the bronze spots. the fury elite bishop makes furies very mobile and heals.

also brotherhood has great cc recycling

There is many ways to deal with doubled-hexed minis with the Brotherhood:

- Mortificator Master (the best choice) + his dice-chosing ability + Point Blank (6 wounds in one attack)

- Sacred Warrior (being adjacent, easy with her "Charge" ability) + Hammer of Judgement (6 wounds in one attack)

- Fury Elite Templar + Test of Faith (one yellow and FIVE RED dices in one attack) or Hammer of Judgement (5 wounds in one attack)

Besides, with his Armour 1 and the red dice inmunity, your Fury Elite Templar can kill Ezoghouls or Biogiants without many risks (the Algeroth player must roll the double-wound side in the yellow dice to hurt the Templar, with a possibility of 17%), and without any risk if you have some "Litany of Steel" card in your hand.

You can also cancel any figure actions with Nikodemus (there's no figure, I know) or the "Put to the Question" card.

For figures with one or two wounds, there is a great combo, the "Bronze-Killer":

- Inquisitor Majoris + Hammer of Judgement (2 wounds, and when the enemy is eliminated you can retrieve the same card, and so on)

Good luck to your friend. Remember: HE knows, and HE will help all of us.

I'd just encourage all of them, yourself included, to give it a go and have a good time. This is not a game where combos are so broken that things are unstoppable.

Even the Vulkan Battlesuit fell into flames yesterday.

In my experience, the Brotherhood is the most powerful army for now (or at least, one of the easiest ot use to its full potential)... A compo of multiple Inquisitors (their self-healing capacity can really ruin your opponent's plans)/Inquisitors Majoris supported by Keepers of the Art is just as cheesy as Capitol Rangers... If you had some wonderful figs like the Mortificator Master, the Fury Elite Templar or Bishop, the Sacred Warrior (which is just a beast against Legion forces, just like Mortificator Shadows)... Well, I think your friend should have more confidence in the Brotherhood's potential !

Totally agree. It's one of the greatest thigs about MC, the equality between the different factions (everyone in his own style, of course). Perhaps Algeroth now has a little advantage as their unique minis (the Nepharite Warlords) are already in the shops (Karak too), but isn't a great advantage.

In the other hand, your game style may not be suited for your favourite faction style. Two examples about the empathy you can have with your faction style:

- I'm a Brotherhood player, and it's my favourite faction, so I'm lucky with this. Why? Because I'm good with army building and with tactics, but my luck with the dices are TERRIBLE!, so a faction with chosen-dice skills (such the Hammer of Judgement card, or the Mortificator Master ability) fits me very well.

- Two of my friends play (and prefer) with Capitol and Bauhaus. But our Capitol player like heavy units with great firepower, and our Bauhauser prefers fast units less armoured. If they switch armies, their game will be better... but when your blood belogs to an specific faction, you can do nothing about that. gui%C3%B1o.gif
