movement phase question

By Saikoro, in Arkham Horror Second Edition

is it possible to ''skip'' your turn in movement phase in order to let another investigator clear the path for you?

Exemple1: Player A with 4 movement pts move 2 zones...then wait...Player B uses his move to come clear a Cultist. Player C move into some random place. Then Player A use his 2 movement pts left to continue his way.

Are you allowed to move multiple time during the movement phase or does an investigator has to use all his movement point at once?

You have to move in order, and you can't save up movement points for later, so no, that wouldn't work. Any movement an investigator takes is used, then you move on to the next.

But am I right in thinking that a movement phase can be 'sort of' divided where an investigator moves to the same location as another investigator, exchanges/gives equipment/money and then continues on his/her way?

The bottom line is that the investigators all take turns moving one at a time, starting with the Starting Player and going clockwise. During an investigator's movement, he may trade items or money with another investigator and continue afterward. Only entering combat will interrupt your movement.

Sometimes this player order is inconvenient and an investigator is forced to deal with a monster before the monster-killer investigator can bail him out.

Page 23 of the base game rulebook:

TRADING EQUIPMENT
An investigator in the same street area, Other World
area, or location as another investigator may trade
money, Common Items, Unique Items, and Spells. This
may be done before, during, or after movement, but not
during combat.

So movement is never divided. In a 2 player game, Player A take their movement phase, then Player B does their movement.

So for example, player A moves to the French Hill Streets. Player A has finished movement. Player B then moves through the French Hill streets to The Witch House. When player B was in the French Hill streets he paused to trade with player A before continuing to his destination. The trade happened during Player B's turn, whether they gave and/or received items is irrelevant.

What can't happen is for Player A to then use any remaining movement points from their turn (eg. to read a tome Player B just gave them).

Yes, sometime the order of players is inconvenient but then again monsters appearing from Other World's is inconvenient too.

In my last game we used the movement phase to great effect one turn. Another player passed through my space and 'took' my weapons from me in order to clear a nasty monster in a street area. In my movement I was able to move through their space and got my weapons back before moving on to kill another monster (the weapons used did not need refreshing). Sharing is caring :)

Here's an interesting question on this point that I'm not sure has come up: is there any reason that you can't move into a place, trade, move back out, and keep going, so long as you have enough movement points to do so?

For instance, Joe is in the Train station, and Michael is in the Curiosity Shop. Michael just got an item that he wants to hand off to Joe, but he also wants to go to Arkham Asylum. With Move 5, could Michael step out into Northside, up into the train station, trade with Joe, down into Northside, across to the Downtown, and into the Asylum? That's 5 moves.

I've assumed yes, since he's still using his movement points and I haven't seen any rule restriction against going to an area you've been before on your turn, but figured I should probably make sure. O_O

So long as your movement isn't interupted by monsters or other effects there is no reason you couldn't do this. I once had Darrel with the ruby of R'yleh a map of arkham and a motercycle cover the length of the board delivering things to multiple investigators.

Thanks. Yeah, it came up for us in a similar situation. I figured that it would work fine, but just wanted to be sure no one else knew some rule that restricted it.
