Old players trying to get back in

By Teamraizen120, in UFS General Discussion

Hello all! My players and I are looking for some help. We have been away from the UFS scene for a few months now and coming back I see some major changes (web site, forums, OP). Luckily we are only 2 sets behind be there are a few questions I have we have had a few issues finding.

1) Heard a few cards that got band a little back and I was wondering where we could find a band list?

2) Why does UFS seem so dead on ebay all of the sudden? It used to be so booming.

3) Who is in charge of the scouts now? Kind of need to drop him/her and email or give them a ring.

Thanks for your help guys!!!

1) Current Banned list:

Here is a Link to the old forums, but this is the current banned list:

Paul should have the current banned list posted sooner then later.

2) Ebay: ::shrugs:: you got me. Though the lack of action is making me think about listing a bunch of my own stuff.

3) Paul Bromen - UFS Line Co-Ordinator you can email him at:

[email protected]

All scouts have to reapply and resign up. That can be done by visiting the n ew OP site:

most answers have been answered, but i have a crackpot theory about ebay:

First, we also got coolstuff. which, we must admit list prices WAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAY lower than most (not all, i never said that) shops on ebay for ufs. so people buy on CSI and then, ufs looks dead on ebay. Also, prices never dropped on ebay. who is whilling to pay 25$ for Power Up anymore?

Which bring to my second point: Rotation. Older cards only interest collectors AND Legacy players. No bigger legacy support won't help to correct it. what to do? i don't know, I haven't played since like november so i can't help.

finally: Ebay was THE ressource for unreleased cards. now it looks like the transfer from STG to FFG slowed that...

I'd wait for a couple of days, supposedly the new State Of The Game is due out within the next day or two, it might be worth reading that as well before you go out and start buying again, lest you end up puchasing recently banned cards (if there are any) :)

It's almost like you guys want something to get banned!

I remember Unifiedshoe complaining that almost nothing ever sold for a reasonable price on ebay (aside from power cards and sometimes players' collections, this is true from my experience - White Gi/Seclusion for a buck each? Yeah!).

I was also wondering why eBay seemed dead. I stopped playing UFS for about two months (waiting for the new sets to drop) and when the sets dropped I was surprised to find... nothing on eBay. I wasn't surprised though.

I think it's due to the long time it took to release these sets. Having eBay stores costs money, whether you sell or not, and every listing does too. I should know, I had a store about a year ago. The worst part is not being able to make back what you spent because of eBay fees for listings that are still open for cards that aren't selling. Simply relisting the item with a different price can cost you. Sure, it's a REDUCED price if you have a store, but the store itself costs money.

You can list an item and get a nice price for a 30-day listing on a Buy It Now item, yet every 30 days you're charged like $15 dollars for having the store open, plus whatever it costs to relist the item. In the end, in low season it's really not worth it.

Then there's the thing of determining a price. If we get technical, every card should cost 40 cents, but that's almost never the case, as we know. From say, 12 boxes of UFS you can get somewhere around 40 of every common, 20 of every uncommon, 9-10 or every rare and (roughly) 3-4 of every UR. And while you might see "wow, this U.S. Air Base card shuts down Addes Syndicate and Higher Calibur" at first, the meta changes from SOTG to SOTG, especially with bans. It's hard to measure how much a card is worth at first glance.

Furthermore, there's never a guarantee that you'll sell every card, or even every card worth selling. You might (and will) get stuck with inordinate amounts of commons, uncommons and rares, even bunches of URs no one wants. So unfortunately this forces you to jack the price up even more, so as to cover 1) eBay fees and 2) the fact that you won't sell everything.

I wouldn't expect it to be as booming as before; it does cost people more money than it costs CSI.
