Any New Classes?

By SSB_Shadow, in Anima: Beyond Fantasy RPG

I know people will bash me asking this, but I am mostly curious.

Has anyone attempted to make any new classes?

Some I would like to see are perhaps a Warrior-Wizard class ala Naruto ninja. Or a pure secondary-skill user who is not a freelancer. Perhaps a Noble, too.

A warrior-wizard is called a warlock. The other two are too vague to say.

Although if you're looking for ninja, Tao works best, though some concepts would be better as Technician.

Ah, Warlock, of course! How could I have missed that?

Well, Tao works in most cases. And if you're wondering, I am just curiously looking if Anima rules can work to make some kind of Naruto RPG (for futural work, perhaps). And many of these classes works well, I think. Although some may miss, or I am just missing them again.

Is there any Illusionist warriors? The Illusionist itself doesn't seem too powerful in magic either as it only gets cheap bonuses on Zeon and Magic Projection, and tons of secondary skill bonuses. It's more like a weak Wizard and good Thief combo. Am I missing something here? (I probably am).

i would also definately build a noble as a freelancer. I mean a zombie, and a hound are both a free lancer.

If you wanted your noble to be better at command type skills that can easily be taken care of with CP and advantages.

I think the general response is, we haven't made any new classes, because at least so far almost anything you culd want to build fits well into one of the classes.

Not too much a fan of Naruto, but I think Tao would work great for most characters. The idea of accumulating ki goes hand in hand with the Naruto universe's 'Stamina-to-Jutsu' concepts. If you wanted to do a puppetmaster, it'd probably be easiest to use the Seals from DE, though I'm not too familiar with them myself, and make the puppets as summons. AE even has an Incarnation that can turn three allies into puppet warriors for the user to control, but that's probably without the purview of the universe.

And you're right; Illusionist is, in fact, the Mystic/Prowler archetype. If you're using the idea of Naruto again, it'd be easy to make a Domine/Prowler class by increasing the Tao's Block, Wear Armor, getting rid of the +5 Style and the Half Cost Martial Arts, and giving it innate bonuses similar to the Illusionist. Probably increase Vigor abilities to 3.

You don't have to learn illusion magic to make Ki powers seem like illusions. If you read about Ki abilities, you will come to a section called Technique Creation. This allows you to create a custom set of Ki abilities. Like spells, the player can decide how the magical effect is manifested; this means that two people with the same power could look entirely different when using it.

One person with an Esoteric Long Distance Trapping attack might manifest it as a "Spider Spirit" attack, hurling a web of chi onto their foe. The other might toss puppets out from his pack, which would fire off grappling lines at his target, and reel them in.

The powers don't have to actually say "Naruto's multiplication". You can use Mirage on page 105. This game is very versatile; you should be creating custom power descriptions to match what you want things to look like, or using the power creation mechanism in Ki Dominions to create them yourself.

Freelancer covers all secondary skill use. Nobility isn't a matter for DP but one for story. The mechanical impact of being a noble can be instituted through the Freelancer easy enough.
