Scenario 3 - How to beat it? (Solo Play)

By faith_star83, in The Lord of the Rings: The Card Game

The point I was trying to make was that if I was able to come up with a deck that could beat the third scenario without a sick amount of luck I would be disapointed with the game. I will keep deck building and trying to beat it, because it allows me to learn the cards and pick up new card interactions, and I expect to be able to beat it when the "fellowship" card options expend. If I could beat a level 5 scenario with a 30-35 card deck with 15 or so filler cards that don't really help all that much, the game would suffer later on. It's just my opinion.

I agree basically with Troopershark, but just don't forget: Per expansion we get 9 unique player cards and 1 hero. That's 2.25 cards per sphere not counting the hero. So for the expansions to have a profound influence in deckbuilding will take a while. But we get new quests and hopefully there will be some that are awesome and playable in solo mode.

I agree that the game should be too difficult if anything, but it's not really the difficulty that's bothering me, but the randomness of how pieces have to fall together in order the create some winning conditions. It turns deck building more or less pointless.

I have to say this is my first lcg so maybe core sets are supposed to be rather introductory and not very fun on their own. I'll keep buying packs at least throughout the first cycle to see how the game develops, because I do love the game and its mechanics!

Scenario 3 gives a difficulty of 7, altough we don't know how high difficulty can get, this should be probably seven times harder than scenario 1. And already scenario 1 is not a 100% win scenario...
