Just Bought AGoT, Want to Clarify Some Things Before I Test at a Game Night

By J-Flow, in 2. AGoT Rules Discussion

So I was brought into the fold of Fantasy Flight a few weeks ago by a friend who brought the game Citadels to a group gathering. I was instantly hooked after one game and looked up the Fantasy Flight website. For Christmas I had gotten the first Game of Thrones book from a relative and fell in love with the mythology. I have been burned out from Magic: The Gathering and want to give a new game a try. AGoT LCG seems to fill that void perfectly.

I have pored over the rule book several times, watched the video tutorials, and tried some run throughs against myself. And I came across somethings I need some clarification on:

Can you kneel a location or character you just played in the marshalling phase to help lower the cost on the next thing you pay for in the same round of marshalling (if it has text to that effect)?

Can you kneel a character to challenge with them if you played them in the marshalling phase that turn?

Do plots affect all players if not specified? Ex. the plot Planning Ahead says "skip the taxation phase this round" So do all players skip the phase or just the player who played the plot?

Do all plots resolve at the same time or does higher initiative take precedence? Ex. If Valar Morghulis was played as a plot killing all characters BUT another player played The Power of Blood preventing bracelet characters from being killed. Since The Power of Blood has higher initiative does it beat out Valar Morghulis?

If a unique chracter gets discarded from your hand does it go to the discard pile or the dead pile?

During an unopposed challenge does the character get the power token or the House card?

In the Setup Phase can you play a location as an attachment to the House Card following the text of the card? Or can you only play it as a location during setup? Is there any pro/con to playing a location as an attachment to your House Card?

Thanks for any help in answering these questions. It is appreciated.

That means it goes on House card.
