Latest models points costs

By Major Mishap, in Dust Tactics

Does anybody know the card points cost of the units after Blue Thunder box?

what do you mean ?

all the walkers are still 4 , all the squads are still 2 , all the heros are still 2 on their cards

I am sure he is talking about the tournament point cost. And no I haven't seen or heard anything.

Nope, do mean the card points not tourney points - can't see the point in them to be honest. So light walkers same cost of medium walkers then, and Armour 3 infantry still 2pts? Don't seem right, guess I'll have to wait to see the stats. Where have you seen the latest cards and points, the light walkers are not availble here in UK till June :(

i dont know what the light walkers or armor 3 infantry will cost yet , you said after "blue thunder" which was the main set , and we already hve some new units out since then since we are in OP cyclone .

A'h sorry the question is a bit unclear, I'd like to know the points cost of all the new models in Cyclone.

the light walkers and armor 3 infantry are in operation seelow , the only squads we dont know about yet from OC are the command squads and the sniper/spotter squads

this is a little off topic for this thread but what is the difference between the point cost on the card and a tourney cost for the units?

the tournie points are a system FFG has come up with in an attempt to emulate the point syatems like other broken minis games like WH40k use . they more drasticaly change to point values between the units , in an attempt to show a difference in their abilities in a point based way .

some like them , but many dont .

i see them as easily abusable , and not accurate .

those playing official tournies are supposed to use them , and while i think everyone can attest , i love this game , but i refuse to play the tournie points system , just as vehametly as i oppose table top rules based on my 20 years of experience playing minis games .

they can be found on the DT product page under the "support" tab .

I agree with Kris the tourney points system is pointless. It adds nothing to the game yet adds in an extra complication and still adds no extra choice. Here's how it works for my Axis, you can have 200pts. The base set comes to 159pts leaving 41pts. For 41pts you can have any of the mechs, doesn't matter which as there will not be enough points to add in anything else so I have an army of 199pts or 194pts - exactly the same models as if I uses the cards points. Exactly the same applies to the Allies, you get the base set plus any mech.

seems pointless but maybe in expansionary games (with airplanes) something could be used with that system?

Planes could still cost 4, 6pts or whatever. The system will only be useful if you could spend the points on something else, maybe an upgrade or extra Panzerfaust or something. And even then the tourney points is only number crunching a stat line which doesn't neccessarily transfer to the battlefield. My cheapest infantry is the Recon Grenadiers, yet these are becoming my favourite. Sure the laser grenadiers can be far superior but only in certain circumstances which normally mean double shotting and Berserk from the hero, in any other circumstance the Recon rangers are better.
