Well i was reading some of the cards from the new set and i stumbled on something. I was reading Charismatic and i notced something.

R Destroy this foundation: After your opponent plays a response ability on a card in their staging area, cancel its effects and destroy that card.

Wait what?! at first I was like wow this is a pretty good card but then it dawned on me. OMG HE KILLS PEOPLE. lol if some one was to do an R on there character I would R with this and then BOOM goes your character. instant KO. Now i know there must be some rule somewhere that you cant destroy a character card like how you cant destroy momentum, only discard it.So you just resolve the card as much as possible and just stop there R but there character would remain there. Still though it is a funny thought and when now and forever whenever that situation happens i am going to tease people saying there character is dead for some kicks and giggles with the fellow player. I just wanted to point this out.

I'm afraid it's been ruled that Characters cannot be "destroyed" by card abilities per se.

You can only "commit" the character and/or drop it's vitality to 0.

And I think we'll all agree with you that Charismatic is a good card!

You can still negate the R on a character if you use it on a foundation or asset you will negate and destroy it .

As Scuba said, it would negate the R on the character, but a character can't be 'destroyed,' unless he is mercilessly blown up by a slew of OVER 9000000000000000000000!!!!!!!!!!!! attacks. .

charismatic is great control tech, and one of bison's best new cards.

I figured as much that it wouldnt kill that character but stop the R ::coughs Chun-Li. Still though I hope people would at least joke around and that the character is dead for the sake of humor. Since as of late sadly people seem to much more serious when it comes to playing. I hardly even see much of a smile on peoples faces any more when i play. So i guess i am just asking for people to lighten up or something lol i dont know. Well if people do joke around when they use one of his cards and say your character is dead in a way i know they read my topic also lol.

Unfortunatelly, starting character can't be destroyed. Can added characters be discarded? Like if your opponents starts with Ryu* and then adds Ryu**, could you make the second out of the game or something?

There has only been one card released that can destroy characters, and that's Taking Them Down a Level. And even then, it's only stacked characters =/
