Is the Dunny Horror a Couch potato??!!

By GrimGuvna, in Arkham Horror Second Edition

I played a game using Dunwich Horror expansion recently for the 1st time and lo and behold the wee beastie appeared during the game.

Now, rules that refer to him activated state that he acts when he moves, but his rules state instead of moving roll a die.

So my querie is does the Dunwich horror move or does he squat on top on sentinel hill like a big lazy couch potatoe egging on investigators to come and have a go if they think they are ard enough?

I would have thought that if he stayed there he would have a yellow border instead of green.

Another situation that came up was during the final battle one of the investigators had a flamethrower, I take it he could refresh it every round before attacking the Ao again?

Cheers!!

Nah, he's a lazy bugger. I guess he figures he can stay wherever wants what with being invisible and all. You could probably make a little house rule to le thim move in addition to his normal rules if you wanted. But with only 3 street areas in Dunwich and no rules to allow monsers to move across towns, there's not a whole lot of places he'd be moving to anyway.

He has a green border because of the "dice instead of moving" part. If he had a yellow border, unsuspecting players who just got this expansion might assume he just sits there and not know to roll dice or anything. Green borders are the game mechanic for "make sure you read my special rules when the game says I should move."

Don't know the flamethrower card by heart, but all items refresh after each round with the AO, if that's what you're talking about.

He's not lazy he just tellecommutes to work. an extra doom token every other turn is nothing to sneeze at and his placement staying on an expansion board makes it that much harder for investigators to go get him when he shows up.

It sounds like he basically acts like the Cthonian, which also rolls a die instead of moving and has a green border.

Aye, that all makes sense, cheers guys.

We basically played it that he didn.t move but no one got their freak on wi him all game, in fact he was also the herald so we decided to tool up for the AO (Nyarlathotep) who turned up shortly after and kicked his butt, as we stocked up on clue tokens and that flamethrower is well nasty, one o the investigators was Mark the soldier and in one round did 5 successes on the big bugger.
