Couple of Questions.

By Ken on Cape, in Mansions of Madness

I see the bases for the monster minis allow you to put in the monster markers and the info holes look the same as the Arkham Horror monster markers. Can these minis and bases be used in Arkham Horror like that? Not sure if they are the same size.

Also if you just have 2 players, sould the player not playing the keeper play more then one investigator?

I would definitely recommend that at least two investigators be played... so if it is just a keeper and one other player they should double up.

The monster counters are not quite the same.. it has been a while since I played AH, but these don't have the appropriate symbols for AH movement, or keywords, etc. I don't think the damage and health of the mosters is scaled the same either, but again it has been a while!

As far as 2 player games go, I think it's a viable option, but the investigator should definitely be ready to run away a lot. I was up against virtually just cultists (also I was Sister Mary) and it was still pretty much a defensive game for me. It was definitely still fun, though.

As far as using AH monster tokens in MoM bases (which I think is what you're asking) I don't have them near me, but I'm pretty positive the AH tokens are smaller than the MoM ones, to the point where it wouldn't really work that well.

The monster tokens has fully compatible (same size, same design). You can plug the AH tokens into the MoM monster bases and play with them. The AH dimensional symbol is located at the same spot than the modifier of the horror test of MoM. Enjoy :)

One thing I just thought off. In AH you have to see the border color of the monster for movement. Can you see at least part of the border in the base?

The bases fitting is awesome! I'm going to have to try this when I get home to see what I think. Hopefully with extra expansions of MoM you could play a full Arkham game with figures.

As far as things work currently, the figures given with MoM are kind of staples of AH. So much so that I can pretty much rattle of their border color right here without looking. Shoggoths are red, Mi-go are blue, Hounds and Chthonians are green so you can still look at what they do on the back for their movement, and pretty much everything else is normal movement. If they start adding more figures with expansions, though, it could definitely get out of control.

If the border color isn't visible at all, I'd probably consider painting the base (probably just around the edges as a reflection of the card's border).

Well since the name is visible, the color behind it should be visible too (on the top of the token). I'll check this when I get home.

I regard to the 2-player question, I would also recommend the 2nd player having at least 2 investigators. I played several 2-player games and it's a lot better for both players to have another investigator on the board.

Playing scenario 2 with only one investigator sucks as the keeper. You simply can't get enough threat.
