Order of plot cards powers

By Paul Grogan, in 2. AGoT Rules Discussion

Simple question, but cant seem to find a good answer.

Plot cards. Some of them have "when revealed" abilities. The FAQ says ""When Revealed" plot effects resolve (in order determined by first player)"

So - First player is actually decided before these powers kick in. Can the first player literally choose the order (i.e you, then him, then me, then her), or is it first player and clockwise? or something else?

1. Choose and reveal plots
2. Initiative is counted
3. High initiative player appoints “First Player”
4. "When revealed" plot effects resolve (In order determined by First Player)

The first player literally chooses (just like any other passive effects conflict).

Many people are tempted to say it is "First Player, then clockwise" (ie, 1, then 2, then 3, then 4), or that the First Player chooses whose is first, then clockwise from there (ie, 3, then 4, then 1, then 2), but the First Player can actually mix up the order any way he wants - so long as they all resolve.

Does the rest of the turn follow that same order until plots are again revealed?

And since this is the case, There's a baratheon character that makes the Person who plays him the "First player". I'm assuming that he moves the player who played him from the order and moves em to the front of the pack. Would it work differently?

No, then it goes in a clockwise order. So playing Knights of the Storm (I think thats the name) will cause you to become first player, and then it will go clockwise.

You shouldn't mix passive effect conflicts with active player concept.

You shouldn't mix first player with active player. When you play Knights of the Storm, you already are active player, so nothing changes, you just become the first player.

OK, now I'm seriously confused. Can someone please clarify how PLayer order is determined, and wether or not that order remains constant throughout the turn? Thank you

Sorry if my post was confusing more. I thought I guessed what was the source of your confusion, but maybe not.

The original question was about passive effects that happen at the same time. Since they happen at the same time, the first player chooses which passive effect happens first, second and so on.

Player order of taking actions, responses, coming out of shadows and becoming active player is always clockwise starting from the first player. (Except during player action window, the player to the left of the person who initiated the action has the first opportunity to play response (then clockwise). The same with responding to the card coming out of Shadows). All those things happen one by one (not at the same time), so there is no need for the first player to decide.

BTW The first player also chooses destination of a card if there is a conflict (e.g. character is discarded and killed at the same time). And the first player chooses who wins if both player accumulate 15 or more power at the same time.

thanks for clarifying, I am now not confused anymore.

Thanks to all for the info.
