Vote for Co-op LCG series!

By Martellus2, in 1. AGoT General Discussion

I am playing the Ice and Fire Roleplaying Game by Green Ronin, and it strikes me how nice the House buildning rules and feeling could be implemented for Game of Thrones LCG.Th idea of building a House with your friends and you all take a role as one of the Heirs and keep Banner Houses, military and resources and characters under you control.

Anyone that heard of news for a future co-op game for Game of Thrones LCG?

Thanks,

I haven't heard anything in regards to AGoT, and I don't think a separate AGoT LCG would ever be made; however, there does exist a "2v2" variant that can be played using the current LCG card pool, but it requires 4 players as the title suggests lengua.gif

I play the song of ice and fire rpg by green ronin as well, good system if not a bit complex (i like it but hard for noobs!)

Yah i always wanted to get into the AGOT LCG but the whole constantly designing decks thing really turns me off, i just enjoy playing za game kinda thing!

In a related note, I have often wished they farmed out the rules (maybe with a small change to influence, and/or a 'chain' timing chart, but I digress).

Star Wars, LoTR, Wheel of Time, Book of Malazans (or whatever Erikson's is), BSG...most game fail more due to horrible rules than subject matter. Would be nice to have the best system around (IMHO of course, I love plots and 3 types of claim) as the bones.

Chains, AKA Last In First Out, are stupid and counterintuitive. IT makes the games super interactive from a tactical standpoint, but causes it to completely lose out on any sense of pressure or difficult decisions in strategizing. And explaining how you get to sacrifice a card for an effect that I just played a kill card on to someone who has never played a CCG before is difficult and frustrating for them. So much easier to have things work from the action reaction stand point with only limited amount of interrupting/disrupting actions.

AGoT timing is pretty complicated, but that has a lot to do with the huge number of interlinked responses that can happen and the inclusion of moribund after the game was originally designed.

I do agree that licensing the game mechanics out or adapting other licenses in-house to this one would be great fun. I doubt it would happen, but it does make me have dreams of a d20 style Card Game system where we can all play our favorite IP's using the Thrones system.
