Obsidian Portal

By Emirikol, in Warhammer Fantasy Roleplay

Any of you using obsidian portal for your campaigns? Is it better than a plain old Yahoo group?

What are your experiences? Any of you care to brag about the campaign you are in or running?

p.s. I'm just checking it out and made a quick sample campaign: www.obsidianportal.com/campaigns/deaths-dark-shadow

I've traditionally used Yahoogroups because we then have a perpetual discussion going on. I'm wondering what really puts this ahead of yahoogroups other than layout. Yahoogroups has a calendar, files (unlimited), links, etc.

It seems neat, but compared what I've already done with simple yahoogroups, I'll need some coaxing by my players to go ahead on this: games.groups.yahoo.com/group/lwgamers/

I wish I could edit my post, but for what it's worth: many spoilers in the link I've posted above!

I use it quite frequently www.obsidianportal.com/campaigns/cote The reason why I love it so much is that it's an ever changing database, we use it to run a series of adventures and have persistent characters between them, makes them seem more real somehow. It hasn't been updated with Ashes of Middenheim yet but it'll get there!

We've started using Obsidian Portal for our new campaign (after nearly 20 years as a Warhammer GM, I finally get to play!). The only thing it's really missing, right now, is a proper character sheet for Third Edition. OP has a developer's kit available, but I don't have the technical skills, myself, to make anything like a good-looking sheet.

(If someone here has the chops and the will to build something like that, I, for one, would be most grateful.)
