Spurred by a forum topic and my own desire to run a game once again, I have been developing a schema to run an Eldar Play by Post campaign based primarily on Deathwatch rules, with a little Rogue Trader and Dark Heresy flavor thrown in to taste.
I am seeking 8-9 adventurous Players who would like to play in this game, and assist me in fine tuning the system before the actual roleplaying gets underway.
The Details:
You will play a member of an elite group of warriors from every Aspect and Craftworld, tasked with assisting in the vision of the Farseer Lyandra. You are not Exarchs, but rather experienced members of your Aspect Shrine or Specialization who have been called forth by mutual prophecy into a series of events which will forever change the course of the slowly dying Craftworld Eldar. Your adventures will take you within and beyond the reach of the so-called Emperor, to lush Maiden worlds and into the depths of the void, and to the realms of colonists of all species. You will fight, explore, bargain, and discover with friends and foes alike.
What I Need:
I have been, and will continue to be, designing rules for each of 9 Aspects, several Craftworlds (some largely my own design), and the Eldar race itself. I'm looking for dedicated and knowledgeable players who will help me fine tune my system in the two or so weeks to come, after which we will begin the Campaign itself.
As an incentive to assist my development process, preference in the order of Craftworld/Specialty selection will be determined by degree of involvement in this pre-Campaign heavy lifting. Yes, I will be limiting character selection to 1 per Specialty, though not necessarily Craftworld.
If you do not wish to play the game, but would like to assist in the brainstorming and rules creation, please let me know. I would be overjoyed to have your help!
Game Format:
Game will be play by post on the linked forum: [ eldarrp.freeforums.org/index.php ]
Posting will occur in two-day intervals. Roleplaying is a must, munchkins should look elsewhere. This does not, however, mean I expect sub-optimal characters for the purpose of "depth".
Because this is a self-made ruleset, I will be very open about things like Elite Advances or proposed mechanic changes if a good rationale is specified. Other specifics of forum procedure, timing, and a list of enforced House Rules are forthcoming.
Your Mission, Should You Choose To Accept It:
Head over to the linked forum and Register. Begin posting on the topics which I have already created with comments and criticism. Valid comments include: balance issues, failing to capture flavor, poor design intent, and other such points.
I look forward to playing with you all, and breaking new ground!
