Looking for online game.

By azrael1415, in Warhammer Fantasy Roleplay

There's no one playing at my local game store for me to try WFRP3, so I bit the bullet and bought the PDF of the Player's Guide and I'm currently digesting all the rules. I really think it sounds fun and I'm chomping at the bit to try it.

Is there anyone about to startup an online MapTools game for new players in the near future. If so, keep me in mind.

Thanks!

Kind of depends on where you are located, as the online group I'm going to start this summer (probably in August) will play on the week days.
So, where are you at?

Player/GM recruitment suggestions:

rptools (maptool forums are FULL of people wanting to play)

open rpg

rpg.net

enworld.org

pen and paper games

access denied

meet-up (face to face, but some online)

paizo.com

myth-weavers

rpg gateway

rpgsite

and....rpggeek.com

If this forum wasn't so backwards, there would be a players seeking players forum here too :)

I'm in Central Time Zone. Weekend evenings are best for me, but I'm flexible.

@Emirikol

Thanks for the advice, I'll definately hit those up.

Thanks all!

You should not have trouble finding players who want to explore MapTools and WFRP3 here. I have been in contact with a few dozen people from all over who want to play remotely. The other sites, especially the RPTools.net site are great resources for finding players.

If you need resources or MapTools files specific to WFRP3, please check out my site: http://www.GitzmansGallery.com. You should be able to get up and running WFRP3 on MapTools quick and easy. If you need any help drop me a line, my email is on the site.

On a fun side note, I am looking to run an introductory session for people who are itnerested in MapTools soon. I'd like to introduce them to the application, and playing remotely. I'll promote it here when im ready, perhaps thsi weekend, or next would be fun.

Oh, well I'm in Europe, so that might become a bit problematic, since the players in my future online group wants to play weekday evenings (and for you that will be something like the middle of the day I guess).

Gitz - this is Furlong Doug, the guy who sent you a very nice email and offered to buy you a beer or dinner for the great work you've put into WHFP maptools. Count me in if you're doing something online, but of course I'm very familiar with all things WHFP.

BTW - I could use some tutoring maptools help. No anyone willing to do so? i'd be willing to throw a few bucks there way. In particular, I'm looking for help matching the characters with macros

(Granted, the interest is really Rogue Trader)

Cheers

Dudes & @FD,

I'm happy to run an intro for MapTools, teach people to use it, both as players and GMs. Im thinking of recording it and posting it as a tutorial afterwards. I'm thinking maybe not this weekend but possibly the next. I'll start a thread here when i know when i'll do it. Anyone is welcome to join in. You'll need Skype and MapTools.

my Skype ID in case anyone wants to ping me is: jburke.design

Will we be recording the rolling of our characters as well, or would you want us to have those ahead of time?

I do have Skype. My Skype name is azrael1415

I am confused about the Basic/Advanced Career thing:

In the Player's Guide, it groups the Wardancer with all the other Basic classes. However, on it's individual sheet, it's listed as an Advanced Career. I really want to roll a Wardancer, but if I need to roll a Basic character first, I will. Thanks!

Well for the demo and teaching you guys to use MapTools it will not be as necessary to generate new characters. I could help you guys through that process too if you like. However if you do want to learn to input your character into MapTools i would suggest having one already rolled up and read to play. We will just input the relevant data. Mind you, you will need your own action cards and all that jazz, MapTools is only a supplement, not a replacement to the system.

Gitz

Will do. I'll have a character drawn up.

I've been playing with your module and I'm starting to get the hang of it. But I'd definately like to see how you make the game flow through it.

Thanks!

I´m looking for a online game too. I´m living in a brazilian town with 3d6 rpg players that think D20 is the only RPG in the world and no, they dont want to try anything new. Im in GMT-4 timezone and can play week days (tue, fri, thu) after 17:30 (21:30 GMT) and all weekends.

If Im elegible for a play, please contact me :)

thanks

Okay i posted details about an introductory session with MapTools for this Saturday. Check it!
