I've managed to pop out the hatch from a German mech so I can place in a tank commander (the Tamiya guy fits perfect) but I can't see how the hatch could actually be opened in 'real life' and therefore do not know how to attach it on the model in an open position. The problem is, unlike the allied mech which easily hinges open, there is no hinge on the german one. Instead it looks like it should just raise up and swivel, but because of the hand rails and MG mount this is impossible to do on the model. Anybody else tried this with a solution?

Hi Dave,

the German Hatch is modeled as if it should "swing" to open (as far as I can tell). This is rather difficult with those two bars and the "nebelwerfer" around it. So I decided to model it like a standard opening hatch. By the way the Tamiya Tank Crew fits really nice
