The Eclipse Of Hope

By ffgfan, in Warhammer: Invasion The Card Game

Ok, so some publishers I know say that this will be avaliable at the end of June 2011. So let's just hope it will.

To this point we saw only this card:

And form the description we can asume that there will be also: Starwood Staff (HE), Glorious Preceptor (E), new Hydra (DE) and some new Khorne units.

Wardancer is very weak. Doubt it will find his place in any deck

I think it would have been cool if they would have represented them more like the WFB Wardancer, something like letting you pick between a few different abilities at the start of your turn that it can keep until the start of your next turn. Like pick one of toughness, counterstrike, scout or something.

That would have been a much better route to go. That is really an awesome idea. I used to love the tabletop game and wardancers were my favorite. An ability like you described would have been much better and far more thematic.

Why is this card so weak? I think it is great defensively (especially in the kingdom), and with more development based decks this gets even better. 3 power is also not bad. I like the card:)

Yeah I think this version is ok, I just thought something more tied to WFB version would have been neat.

Yeah, this card would be ripe for a targeted attachment at the very least. "Gain <something>. If the character this is attached to is a Wardancer, gain <something cooler> too."

Because with all the removel, 5 cost characters should knock your socks off, not wait for developments and the such. *shrug* Too many cards in a 50 card deck to be putting in 5-costers with abilities that need setting up.

Really I also doubt this will see much play unless wood elf keyword ends up useful. In my opinion I would rather have a 3 power 4 hp unit with savage for 5 than the wardancer and that doesnt make decks very often already.

I already see several examples of Wood Elf synergy and I'm sure there will be more to come. I'm thinking Nimble Spearmen and the Dryads can provide extra developments beyond what you can already lay out. Add in City Gates or Light of Morrslieb and you can rack up some high counterstrike pretty fast. Or if you're facing a bunch of weenies, one or two developments will more than cover it. Maybe we'll also see a "Target Wood Elf becomes a Development until end of turn." tactic later on. Block with Wardancers, deal X counterstrike, assign three damage, then absorb damage by turning into a development.

On its own, nothing special, but I can see it becoming a great card with some solid synergy.

Counterstrike only hits one unit, so it is really bad against wheenie.

Text - Poisonous Hydra, Action: When this unit comes into play, each unit in any zone get -2 hit points until end of turn

:/ a lot of DE units have 2HP so it will be not easy to setup. But maybe it can work as a finisher or rely more on Corsairs and other 3HP units.

Hello everyone! New player here. One quick note on the hydra's effect: it says each corresponding zone, not each zone. That should make it a lot easier to put in play, since you don't have to consider any damage to your own units.

Dang...it's going to suck being on the opposite end of that thing dropping.

That is a pretty solid come into play ability. Definately playable...

note there is no targets, so Iron Discipline, Church of sigmar etc wont work

Only read the translation where it said any zone but when it is corresponding zone then it's a great card.

Yes, Youre right - thanks for clearing that mistake. Now Hydra is a lot more useful.

This expansion will be avalaible in July 2011 according to Euroean distributors.
