Sororitas Starter Package for Deathwatch-Campaign

By socratim, in Deathwatch

Since I am allowing Sororitas in my Deathwatch-Campaign, I was wondering if anyone has a convenient "starter package" listet somewhere.

As I see it, if I want to start a "Deathwatch-friendly" Sororitas I would have to create it via the Inquisitor's Handbook, elevate it to ascension-level, then convert it via Ascension, then give it some more XP, right?

So a handy "Deathwatch-Starter-Sororitas-Profile" would be gold!

Hey,

Actually I would use the Blood of Martyrs version, though both have ascension ready packages in their web releases
Though I would give the Sister that artefact mantle to make her last a bit.

Ah, okay. Found it. So she would not need any additional XP, would you say?

Nope, Ideally a little less, because of having so many more skills and talents.

Great! Thanks a lot! That makes it quite easy then and my wife has no excuse to not play... ;-)

Don't kid yourself. Battle Sisters from Blood fo Martyrs pay an arm and a leg for their skill set. Consiering you need to spend 1400 xp to get your wounds to a comparable level of a Deathwatch Marine and 6950 xp to get you stats to a Deathwatch equivalent as well. So thats 8350 of your startign 13000. Would you like some weapon talents to use those nifty guns also? Thats another 200 xp minimum per talent. Personally though any Palatine should have training in the bolt pistol, flamer, melta gun, inferno pistol, powr sword, and chain sword. Thst 1200 xp more. We haven't bought any additional talents or skills yet either. Now granted if you want ot be a gun bunny you can do it better than a starting Deathwatch character but you lack access to the cool talents like Bolter Drill as you go up in rank. I would advise agsint buying all tyhose good combat talents and save some xp for the Faith Talents that will make you a unique asset to the team. Those are 300 xp each also. That way you have something to buy later or you can just take advantage of your talent groups from Ascension.

Perhaps I'm beating around the bush a little but my point is that Space Marines have plenty of skills to compare to the Ascension level Sororitas, though perhaps she may be better at the few skills she chooses to take. I don't see Common Lore (Ecclesiarchy) or (Imperial Creed) coming up a lot on Deathwatch missions though. The two are roughly comparable though all things considred if you up teh damage on the weapons for teh Sororitas and give her access to a couple of relics. In Dark heresy I reduced th cost of many skills after about rank 3 or 4 due to not being able to compare with the rest of the team skill wise. Leave it alone for Deathwatch though.

Just use one of the marine starting packages to simulate her role if shes a combat sister, remove unnatural traits and add faith, tadaa.

If shes a dialouges or hospitaler then her wounds ect wont matter as much but give her access to the 2d10 + 30 stat line and then just have her buy the rest, problem solved.

Sounds cool!

Nah, i'd say use the Blood Of Martyrs sisters options, and check out the pdf supplement for the for ascension level Sister. I've played a battle-sister/inquisitor in Dark Heresy using the BoM rules and i can say they are insane. Yeah they wont be working as well in a group as the Astartes, but if they come up against psykers, daemons or anything with corruption points they have a LOT of powers they can unleash by spending or even burning fate points that will seriously aid the group.

Thanks for all the input.

I will think about all the options. Since my wife, who is going to play the Sister, is more of a "silent roleplayer", enjoying the evening with friends and rolling some dice, when someone says "hey, you could do that or that", she might be okay with being the "Bot" for special occasions, thus having all the cool skills and talents the others don't possess.

Could really add some flavour, I guess.
