Does anyone know a way to find a list of brick and motar stores that may be selling the GOT LCG?
I want to start playing and figured a store selling the gear would maybe be the best place to find a group.

I don't know of any store lists but if you post what city you live in someone here might be able to direct you to a place.

anyone have suggestions for places in/near Los Angeles?
I'm not familiar with LA at all, though their are some southern LA gaming groups. You may also want to post this in the Meta-section if you can find out which threads are the So-Cal ones.
On a side note, I've always been curious as to why FFG doesn't have a store finder feature (they had one on their old site, as least as far as OP programs were concerned). You're definitely not the first person to look for this kind of information.

btw...I called Game Empire and they no longer carry Thrones.
It's a bit of a trek but Pair-a-Dice games in North County San Diego (Vista) carries quite a bit of cp's and expansion sets. We're probably going to have an "open game day" up there a few weeks after Kingdom-Con so maybe we can all meet up. Game Empire (SD store) also carries the current CP's. Otherwise not sure what's up in LA! Glad you're getting back into the game btw!

Actually I live in San Diego county and have yet to visit their San Diego store. I get up to LA for short visits and had always wanted to see this store. I was very impressed. I can't believe they don't cary AGOT, I don't get it.
Game empire will carry any game that gets players...they aren't as "cheers-like" as the old game zone but they are a huge store and well run. I highly recommend them. (miss the old days with Dave and Tony though)
I am going to be in Pasadena tonight and was going to stop by Game Empire (its the one on Colorado yes?).
I can confirm later tonight if indeed they do not carry Thrones. I know they did carry LCG Thrones a few months ago so I would be surprised if they gave it up totally.
Ok so Game Empire does still carry Thrones but their orders are a bit limited. They only had the Core Set and a few of the chapter packs from the Brotherhood cycle but they are certainly willing to order any chapter packs they don't currently have in stock.
