New Mass: the meta around Boston

By Hidatom, in 7. AGoT Metagame Discussions

Friendly Neighborhood comics in Bellingham has embraced the game of thrones!

current play days are alternating Tuesdays and Thursdays due to my schedule, but the owner is open to gaming most days they are open!

next "official" time to play will be next Tuesday (April 12th) and the owner os looking into getting league kits and more cards in stock!

great store with good hours and a great owner who is helpful, knowledgeable, and reading the books!

will be playing This Thursday (April 21st) at 6 PM at FNC

No possible way I can make it to anyplace on a weekday outside of Boston. The traffic is just too obnoxious and I get out between 5.30 and 6pm most days.

(Also getting back means having to park about 45 min from my apartment.)

What's the status of the store in Davis?

And sorry I didn't post earlier I forget about this section of the boards too often.

I have visited the new location for Comicazi in Davis square and it had room for 20-30 players and they seem like they would support play.

I am still going to Friendly neighborhood comics even though it is a 45 minute drive...the owner is really great and I think his store deserves my business. I could probably make it to comiccazi once or twice a month if regular play started up.

Who else in the boston area have you rounded up?

so far just one player who lives nearby Wolfgangsenff I am try to find a good time to meet at Davis square Comicazi.

Well Tuesdays,Thursdays, Fridays after 7PM, Saturdays if notified in advance. (I could play this Saturday for example).

Mon, Wed I am generally busy.

My sister, brother-in-law, and I have all started playing. I played the game back when it was a CCG, but we all play now at least three times a week. We haven't seen any meta around Boston, and the stores I've visited either tuck their chapter packs way in the back or don't carry them. We're looking to maybe get into a group or somesuch that plays around Boston. We live in Eastie, but can drive anywhere relatively close.

Also, what stores do you guys know of that support AGOT? I've just taken to ordering them from this site whenever they're available.

This thread doesn't look like it's seen much use lately, but I was curious to know if there's much in the way of metas in the Boston-area? I'll be back home from mid-December to mid-January, and if I was hoping there might be some playgroups to meet up with while I'm there.

I don't know of anyone that meets up and plays. Just me and Kyle and Kyle plays on OCTGN (even though we could actually meet up and play).

Compleat Strategist typically orders just enough product for me (They get 1 cp when it comes in, sometimes 2). I don't think Pandemonium really carries it, they're completely oriented towards serving the hordes of Magic Players that descend upon them.

looks like myriad games in NH is running a league. i am going to check it out next Sunday (april 1st) if anyone else is interested

Hey! I am one of the people running the league at Myriad. We'll be playing this upcoming Sunday. We also run a small list for organizing. If you ping me, I'll add you to the mailing list.

We've been playing with around 4 to 6 ppl for the last few months. We are gradually growing, as more people are expressing interest.

The environment isn't super compettive yet, but it is growing as ppl get experience and grow their card pools. We do have a lot of fun though.

Mostly we play joust, but are contemplating some more melee variants. We had an epic 3 hour kingsmoot a few weeks ago, for example.

also, I forgot to add:

we have the inkling of a website at:

http://www.witn.thoughtcrimegames.net/

and we have a mailing list -- [email protected] -- that we use for basic discussion and announcements (like when we will play next!)

I'm based in Portsmouth, NH and just started playing AGOT. Is the league still happening at Myriad Games in Salem? Or are there any other groups around?
