Lore Forbidden (The Primarchs) ??

By ducky185, in Deathwatch

In Rites of Battle, the Deathwatch Chaplain advanced specialities (table on page 107) makes mention of this skill, and notes "new skill group".

I have looked through the book (and specifically on page 108 for the Chaplain abilities), and can't find any further mention of this skill.

Can anyone else point me in the direction of the relevant page, for the skill information?

I have already checked the Living Errata on the Support page, with no luck.

Thanks in advance for any help.

It's about knowing about the various Primarchs (mainly the loyalist ones, of course), their stories, heroic tales, deeds, and that kind of thing. It's so that DW Chaplains can understand the various other Chapters that make up their kill-team.

I understand what the Lore is about (from my own personal knowledge). I am looking for more black & white information (ie on the page).

Can you quote a page reference??

If what you say could be considered as 100% correct, why is it "Lore Forbidden"

If it was knowing about their heroic deeds & stories, wouldn't that be considered "Common Lore" for Space Marines?

Forbidden Lore gives the idea it might be more about their weaknesses, and other negative aspects of the loyalst Primarch stories and personalities?

So, therefore the Chaplains can be on the look out for those traits from the Space Marines decendent from those Primarchs?

Or perhaps it is actually about the Primarchs of the Traitor Legions?

This is why i am asking if anyone can point me in the direction of specific page references?

Even if it is to actually say that this has been overlooked by FFG, and hasn't be included in the book.

If i wanted to decide what the skill encompassed, i would have done that myself, or put it as a question stating what i thought the skill encompassed, and asked if others agreed with my general idea.

The is no page reference which I'm aware of, and the skill is not formally detailed. If you are keen to have it in black and white, it would be better to email the designers.

Just consider any lore listed under Forbidden as fact. The Imperium doesn't like facts, it prefers half-truths, lies, and obfuscation.

Common stories (lore) of the Primarchs would be used as parables of pure, glorious, righteous beings with no faults or defects.

Its for more intimate details of the primarch and the effects on the chapter. Take space wolves and Dark angels for ex, they have a ritual duel before a fight, I dont think other chapters are really aware of this or even if the 2 chapters know why. Lore could explain about the duel between the primarchs and this ritual. Another example would be Corax, its possible the PC knows about his experiments to replenish the chapters numbers. Rogal percieved the demise of the emperor as his fault, developing the pain glove and emerging as a new kind of leader (or somthing like that). Fulgrim is now a deamon prince on his own planet in the warp. The khan dissapeared chasing dark eldar. Johnson is in stasis on the rock. I doubt these facts would be known outside thier own chapter, sometimes would even be hidden from its own chapter.

Thats my perception anyways
