Questions about moving and timing conflicts

By Arvitz, in Arkham Horror Second Edition

So just a couple of questions that could be answered quickly.

If you move into a location that has a clue token, do you gain the clue token immediately and then have an encounter? Or do you have your encounter first, then if you're still in the location, collect the clue token?

Also, regarding Wendy's personal objective, is it possible to use her Elder sign to place the third elder sign token on the board? or would she fail the objective before the token would be placed on the board?

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

You get the clue token at the end of your movement phase. After all the players have finished with their movement phase then you go into the Arkham encounter phase. So, you get the clue token first.

As for Wendy's personal story I don't know. I don't own Kingsport so I haven't look int the matter. I would rule that you fail your personal story in that situation but I may be wrong. Wait for a more experiance player to post for that matter to be sure.

For Wendy's PS and other similar situations: When things happen simultaneously (not the clue example above, you must actually follow the phases for that), the Player decides in which order they resolve. An example is choosing which monster to fight when there's more than one in your space. This is explicitly stated in the rulebook, and this situation is even mentioned in the FAQ, saying that the seal is placed at the same time as Wendy losing her Elder sign, so the player can choose for her to Pass or Fail (usually they choose to pass...).

Agreed. And for any situation where the players cannot agree on a course of action, whoever has the First Player token decides which way it goes.

Uh, just to clarify, "cannot agree on a course of action" involving monster movement or the targetting of some effect. Not regarding misunderstood rules, i.e. "I am the first player! I take all the money from the bank! It says so in my head!"

Can I do that if I use a Munchkin player marker?

Sure but next turn when I get the first player marker all players (not investigators) with a munchkin player marker get devoured. Says so in my head.
