between the Orion- Star Clipper and the Conquest Galleon - a new hull

By Mordechai Von Razgriz, in Rogue Trader House Rules

greetings gentlemen !

I will soon began again a Rogue Trader Campaign with my players. They have built their dynasty background already, but they have some troubles to choose a ship.
They love both the Orion, for it is very fast and can cover its rear alone; and the Conquest Galleon, for the awesome of a cruiser size, but far too slow for how they want to play ( the first campaign was with a lumbering cruiser).
So, I've tried to create a hull who can offer both. Before presenting it, I need your opinions : too cheap, over powered, etc...
Concerning the name, I'm hesiting between Voidjammer ( from the Windjammer kind ships, they were bigger, steel sail ships that were nearly as fast as Clippers), Polacca and Pink ( Zebec like fast transport sail ships.)

SIRIUS-CLASS VOIDJAMMER - TRANSPORT
Dimensions : 5km long, .6km abeam at fins approx.
Mass :20 Megatonnes.
Crew : 22 000 crew, approx.
Accel : 5,1 gravities max. sustainable acceleration.

Even rarer than the Conquest galleon, the Sirius are the spiritual ancestors of the Orion class star clippers. It is said that during the very Foundation of the Imperium, massive amounts of cargo of highest values were needed to supply Crusade armies directly in hostile territory. As every ship available was needed, large capacity, fast transports were needed. Without escort, the Sirius were fast enough to avoid most opponents, and armed enough for the rest. Their sheer size is misleading though : if they can defend themselves, they are not heavily armoured or armed. Successfull -and alive - captains use thme as a very large frigate, not as a ship of the line.
These ships are very rare, and very dispendious to ensure they work properly. For a rich enough Rogue Trader Dynasty, however, they offer tremendous opportunities for trade at a speed unrivaled.

Speed : 9 Manoeuvrability : +15 Detection : +10 Hull Integrity : 38
Armor : 16 Turret Rating : 1 Space : 42 Ship Points : 45

Weapon Capacity : 1 Dorsal, 1 Keel
Cargo hauler : this vessel was designed fro transporting goods, and no amount of retroffiting can fully change this. This Hull comes pre-equipped with one Main Cargo Hold. the Hull space has already been reduced to account for this, however, when the ship is constructed it must be able to provide 2 Power to this Component.
Fiery but Plodding :for some reason, the plasma drives on a Sirius tend to burn hotter than on comparable vessels, giving more power. Any plasma drive installed on a Turbulent has its Power generated increased by +2. However whenever the crew would gain Profit Factor from an Endeavour, reduce the amount gained by 1.
Fast Ship : Due to the precisely calibrated nature of this ship, it cannot be equipped with Components that increases its Armour.

Sample Ship : Prinz Schadenfreude
Machine Spirit Oddities : Resolute
Past Histories : Wolf In Sheep's clothing

Speed : 10 Manoeuvrability : +18 Detection : +15 Hull Integrity hull Integrity 41.
Armor : 16 Turret Rating : 1 Space : 42/42. Power : 42/42. Ship Points : 55
Essential Components
: Lathe Pattern Class 2a Sprint Trader Drive, Strelov I Warp Engine, Warpsbane Hull, Single Void Shield Array, Commerce Bridge, Voidsmen Quarters, M1.R Life Sustainer, M201.B Auger Array.
Weapons : Keel Stygies Pattern Macrocannon Battery, Dorsal Stygies Pattern Macrocannon battery
Supplemental Components : Main Cargo Hold (free), Barracks, Temple Shrine of the God Emperor, Trophy Room.

Edit : thanks Iridium ;)

I think the Prinz Shadenfrude is missing a life sustainer?

Indeed, I've forgotten to type it, though it was included in the space/power total already.

Looks okay to me, though the lost Profit Factor seems like too big a drawback. I would probably change that and maybe lower the Maneuverability to +10.

Concerning the Profit drawback, well, you have the Stoic Machine Spirit Oddity who does this ... I note for the Manoeuvrability ; I've taken the value of a standard Frigate (like the Orion, which is a Transport with Raider statistics).
