Ya , what ever

By Guest, in Dust Tactics

Looks fantastic and love the attention to detail right down to leaving the pistons metal instead of painted, it going to make me re-think my rush-jobs. I can't help thinking though that the stat card has been deliberately designed to get the bot in combat quick to kill infantry with the extra armour and being fast, but then you probably have to to design it like that to make it worthwhile on the table top, no point in having a flashy new mech if it alway's gets destroyed before it does anything. Alternatively why not lose the armour and Fast and make it a 2 pointer?

Ignore the bit about armour as you have added extra plates.

thnx

the reason for fast was actually to help clear minefield and terrain squares faster , but it also works with the anti infantry roll to , though to a lesser degree . keep in mind that most of our games are played on 4X6 tables using gridded sheets , so there is alot more board to cover so fast isnt AS big an advantage when it means you can out run your own support units and get into fire fights where you are vastly out numbered .

when i wrote the fluff the first time , i had made it to detailed , so i edited it down to be more like the DT fluff in the scenario books . if the fluff were longer , it would include a blurb that part of the reason for the high maintenance issues is that the engine is designed to run redlined like a racing engine , to speed it up and compensate for the added weight of the armor and flail , so the engines burn out faster than normal .

i added the armor on to make it more fit its role ,and in the vane of the bolt on panzer armor plating . and so i gave it armor 5 .

i gave it one more life because of the added "body" of the flail , so there is more to destroy .

though its pretty useless against most walkers (the light walkers should be armor 3 ) the higher armor and life help it live a little longer , so even if it cant kill walkers , it CAN force them to waste attacks to dislodge it since it makes a pretty good baracade in tight spaces .

sadly , i have ideas for more walkers , but lack the spare walkers to tinker with , though at some point , if my budget gets better , i have thought about building some custom walkers and ebaying them with the profits going to charity , but thats a long way off if ever .

Very nice. I can only imagine what it is like to play "Dust Tactics" at your house (a good thing, a very good thing). Keep up the good work as it shows you are good at it.

Yea really nicely done.

Oh very nice! Love the detail on the arms, the I-beam slide and pistons and counter weight, very nice. Perfect for clearing English beaches or the approaches to Minsk in '46.

actualy i dont play at my apartment , i dont have the room . but my FLGS has just moved a few months back to a 16000 sq foot movie theatre complex , they are still doing some construction/remodel work on some of it but once its done , they will have 2 game rooms of 4000 sq ft EACH , a 4000 sq foot medai room (movie theatre ) , and about 3000 sq ft sales floor ......... oh and they have put in a snack bar that sells restaraunt quality food .

i live in a 2 bedroom apartment , but the building is like 70 years old , and was built when people didnt have lives , so its not as big as most newer 2 bedroom apartments (seriously , i had to sign a waiver when i moved in saying i wouldnt hold the landlords liable for led paint or asbestos , but i have lived here for about 10 years , and it aint SPUTTER........ hurt ......gaSPPPP ............cough ........... me.............. none .......................shudddddder )

since my last roomate moved out 3 years ago , i have turned the living room into a work area , and the second bedroom into a living room . when ever i bring a woman home , we just stay out of the living room work area , .....................which gets them closer to my bedroom ;)

so here is the first wall of the living room

i am trying to find a cheap chair to replace the couch in the living room work area . the couch is just there because my cat uses it as a scratching post , so once i find her a chair , i can replace it and add another set of shelves and another table

EEEXcelent smithers EXCELent .............

i just set up a trade deal with a guy on BGG that will include 2 of the redblock walkers , i cant remember the name , its the one that comes with the twin kids , and a unit of kolossi . dont know what i will do with them yet , but i will do something interesting

Kris,

Wow! Now that is a work area. Forgive me for looking around but I could not help but to notice that you are also a Heroscape player. I played enough Heroscape games in my time and still enjoy setting up for a game or two (or three or four...LOL). It was a sad day when the classic game ended. On that note there is talk that a company may pick up classic Heroscape. I for one think it would be a great pick up for FFG...

I know what you are saying about having a cat. I have three Siamese myself and trust me, I understand that what is mine...errr, wait, nothing is mine (anyone who has shares their home with a cat(s) knows that it is all theirs). As a matter of fact I had my "Dust Tactics" Axis tanks put up in a clear storage box and...yea, you can guess what happened...one of my trusty felines decided to get it down for me. So tonight I had to glue back together their machine guns and spotlights (I was thankful that only the machine guns and spotlights were broken). While most "Dust Tactics" players play against either Allies or Axis, I now have to plan against sneak attacks from Felines...

ya , games are my thing , i am not into watching some one else play sports on TV , and working on cars never really interested me either , so i spend my hobby income mostly on games , or game accessories .................................... like the band saw and drill press :)

all those totes and bins are actually JUST bits and pieces , not actual games . thats what i have to pull from for custome building of all the various models i make . and thats also why i periodicaly have to take a break from what ever projects i am working on , because its easy to start to many things , and get burried in the work .

i gave up on heroscape , but i keep getting the terrain from time to time :(

while i said above that it was made "fast" to clear mine fields , it did produce a rather pleasant "stain" in our 3rd game today when bazooka joe and his fresh faced BBQ squad were reduced to so much meat paste !

MMMMMMM BBQed BAZOOKA meat paste babeo.gif
