Long opening theme is still too long. Adds nothing to the podcast.

When you ask a guest a question, and he answers it, don't ask him the same question over again.

Stop comparing everything to STG. It's dead. Let it be.

Having podcast released after POTM flyer was released weeks ago is making a great deal of of it seem really redundant and a waste of time.

Not having hosts turn off their various background noises is distracting, and annoying

When your guest says "I can't really say anything about that." Leave him alone, stop digging.

Too many cooks in the Kitchen... especially when information has to be repeated 3 times because someone didn't hear.

When your guest has had to say 5 Times "I really can't say anything about that." and the host keeps digging responding with "Oh... that's all you had to say" seems really disingenuous.

When your last guest says that "Sets with starter will be 8 characters, sets that are Boosters will be 5 characters" Listen to what that guest says. There's no need to keep dragging it out. You want us to listen to your podcasts. Listen to your own podcasts.

Listen to what your guest says. When he's already answered your question, don't ask him the same question differently.

Sorry guys... but Please respect your listeners. The 45 minutes that this podcast run was too long, and the new material that was covered in this could have been done in 20-25 minutes, or less.

1) yes opening theme is kinda cool... but should last no more than 10 seconds as an intro, NO MORE.

2) agreed in the court of law this would be refered to as BADGERING, no badgering your guests.

3) agreed

4) dont think this was their call Brian, Jeremy posted it up at that time, might have been due to the fact that Mt. Do is now doing all the HARD editiing work and it's taking him a while.

5) YES PLEASE TURN OFF ANY BACKGROUND NOISES, talking to BOTH the HOSTS and the GUESTS, i remember back in either episode 3 or 4 HEARING random noises from parents in the background yelling(understandable), but having kids randomly come up and yell in the mic isnt cool either, nor is SHUFFLING your deck in front of the mic...

6) see the Badgering comment

7) Agreed, Mainly towards Chris and Scott, you two have a VERY bad habit of talking over Edwin and Surriel when they have a legit question by digging more into soemthing that was answered, please when it is an interview and not a card/resource discussion LET EVERYONE have their say, even if it means taking mandatory turns.

8) again badgering

9) agreed, listen to your guest CLOSELY, he shouldnt have to repeat himself unless his/her phone/mic dropped in volume or random noise happened on their end.

10) agreed

11) Actually i DIS-agree, the longer the better for me, sometimes hearing someone make a rear out of them self is fun but also geting a lot of info in 30-45 minutes is also good, as long as they dont get upwards of 2hrs long like episode 4 did way back when...

The Commit One interview with former STGer Amy Pierce is up on the Community section of the UFS minisite.

Ah... but shorter episodes make for less editing. Meaning less time to get the edited copy over to Jeremy, and sooner to get it on the web!

how was the path of the master flyer released weeks ago? it was just this week??? man it seems to me you are just looking to be nit picky and find things to complain about. we appreciate the feedback on other things but come on man, get serious.

we ask questions that people post up on the forums or email us, so please if you can make our show good in your opinion, CONTRIBUTE MORE/SOMETHING/ANYTHING besides nitpicking and lying(see flyer being released weeks ago, when it was just this week.)

we are doing something for the ufs players all over and all we get is negativity over asking questions and trying to get info FOR YOU GUYS, i mean this is so stupid. why is everyone so negative about everything?

and about your keep digging comment, we do it as a joke to entertain people. so if you dont' like what we say and since somehow our podcasts are weeks in the past somehow.

i mean i've listened to your critique and i hear you, but dood just give it a rest and just don't listen if this is how it's going to be.

i agree on the stg thing, but it's fun to go down memory lane, maybe we do it to often lol.

your right though sometimes we do talk over people but we apologize and keep it moving so why can't you just drop it?

somtimes we can't help the background noises, skype is that fail and ventrillo failed even harder, so please give us somewhat of a break.o

a 20 min podcast? this isn't an adult swim show, it's legitimate discussion.

Not to nit pick but the PotM flyer was posted like 3 weeks ago. I think most people just kind of missed it.

http://new.fantasyflightgames.com/edge_news.asp?eidn=388

But I think most people know these are done a week or two before they get posted on the web, so sometimes new info on the podcast isn't all that new when we finally get to listen. Not a big deal IMO.

Then for those of us who don't enjoy the pod casts, and don't have 45 minutes to waste listening to podcasts, and get nothing from them, how about posting a summary of what's covered in the pod casts, which so far as a crew you have refused to do. Multiple users have asked for that, and all that the podcast crew does is say "you MUST listen to the podcast." That includes users who are not fluent in english asking for a text posting because they understand english from a written perspective, but have a challenge with spoken english.

Per J-Dub's post with link - the Path of the Master info was available weeks ago.

I personally reposted the information on the forums on February 13th .

I think what part of my problem with the podcasts are, is that the information is out there. The information is published by FFG. Rather than choosing to educate the people who send you questions that have already been answered, you just go ahead and ask them again anyway.

While you find the digging "humorous", I feel that it's disrespectful. As someone who has done interviews for a newspaper, where I've interviewed bands like Megadeth, and Ac/Dc - I would have been crucified if I pulled something like that in one of those interviews. I've participated in interview sessions similar to your podcasts where you get the opportunity to ask one or two questions in the interview session, to where you get a 15 minute window to get the entire interview. So forgive me, I'm trying to provide constructive feedback from a somewhat professional perspective.

If you guys are going to produce "State of the game" podcasts that are going to replace written transmission of information, and force us to listen to them to stay in the loop, then I'm going to continue to provide feedback. If you guys start providing a written summary at least covering the highlights and "what we need to know", then I won't have to spend 45 minutes to find out that "Rock Howard will be the card of the month". Considering what my time is worth on an hourly basis... I don't see you guys giving me a Feline Spike to compensate me for the time... so I've contributed feedback. Please note, the feedback that I am contributing is constructive. Specific items that are actionable, and reasonable to change.

Finally - it seems that there is a significant lag between the interview and when it gets posted. I understand that is because of the editing. While you may not want to emulate adult swim by dropping the length to 15 minutes, by doing it in that matter, the turn around time for editing would be significantly less.

The March State of the Game podcast has been posted. Give it a listen in the Community section of the UFS minisite!

Please note that the SOTG podcasts are not in place of Steve's written SOTG. It's just more info for UFS fans.

Awesome podcast was awesome. Thanks for having me guys!

i just noticed something - or the lack of something:

Episode Four - Interview with Omar
The hosts sit down with 2007 World Champion Omar Chavez.

that SHOULD read:

Episode Four - Interview with Omar
The hosts sit down with 2007 Team World Champion , and 2008 US National Champion Omar Chavez.

the 07 world champ was Olexa, not Omar gui%C3%B1o.gif

Jeremy just wants to give you so much Omar lol ...

The new episode, Order , is up on the UFS minisite! Check it out!

Ok I listened to the Order Podcast last night, I rather enjoyed it. First and foremost I liked the Trunks intro aplauso.gif , but overall it was really informative. Its nice to here about other metas and other decks from different areas.

Breaking down the decks is key to understand the fundamentals of how the Order deck works. Also I like how it wasn't Order is god, ideally speaking its the best symbol imo, but including the tech against it is really important. This encourages healthy deck building and promotes other symbols as well.

I like to think in my most humble opinion that I'm a decent deck builder and player,( I have to play against Scott Gaines, got to stay on the cutting edge), but anyone can learn something from the podcast, I know I did.

To me UFS is the best CCG/TCG out there,

1.) It has characters that we all can relate to. We all grew up playing some form of fighting game more than likely. So whats better than bashing your opponent with Akuma? lol Seriously though, I play fighting games probably like most of you do, and I'm sure that some people..aka Scott Gaines is beasting at Street Fighter 4. I feel that having this connection enhances the desire to get better and learn the game play of UFS. I know that I always want to learn how to be a better MvC2, Tekken, and SF4 player, this follows through with card games as well. I play Yu-Gi-Oh for awhile, some would argue that its a luck/sack game, and to a large extent thats true, but its the excitement of and I quote, "Thats the spirit android, never say die!" Plus its Orange card, orange card, blue card, blue card gran_risa.gif also its wasn't always so easy to win, especially when there is such a large volume of $1500 decks, anyone can sack you. I played at Nationals last year with 647 other people, I came in like 5th or 6th, so to me thats a big accomplishment. I just started playing UFS just late last summer, and I love it. I also get pumped about new sets. The point I'm making is that UFS is an exciting game, and overall has a network of some cool people. So it has an unlimited amount of potential, it will continue to grow as long as we stay connected to spread ideas throughout the UFS community.

So keep up the good work guys, peace.

-Eric

The new episode has just been posted to the Community section of the UFS minisite.

HEY, I KNOW THAT GUY! =O

I'd like to be on the show, and would likely have time to do so pretty much whenever. I'll let you know when as soon as the schedule for the month of April goes up, since it looks like you're pretty full for the month of March.

Ya March we are all done we have put up Chaos and SOTG and we have recorded Jon Herr's interview . But we haven't filled all the spots for our Air discussion next month in April if you are a Air player let me know .

Not typically an air player, but I know the decks for air pretty well. I figure if you play any symbol, you should know all of the symbols.

If you have a link you'd like me to put up on the new site to promote the podcasts, please send it to me at [email protected]

Also, I need to get your email addy, have a few questions for ya.

Thanks for your time,

Scott Wilding

I would like to participate in a Podcast. Any topic.

Some suggested topics I have heard from players that have started listening to the podcasts:

1. Other resources for deck ideas and deck building
2. Building good decks cost effectively
