Newbie Questions

By ZAxxor, in Arkham Horror Second Edition

I am a solo player and run 3 characters , here are few things I am confused about

1. If an elder sign is played and doom token removed..do you ALSO remove monsters with relative symbol as when gates are closed with clues?

2. If Character lands on a gate that has 2 clues and a monster. is this the proper sequence?

a. remove clues

b.evade or fight monster

c.go thru gate

Sealing a gate is the same as closing it, so yes you remove all monsters with the same symbol as the gate.

Clues can never exist in locations with gates, so you are doing something wrong there. When a gate opens at a location with a clue token, you remove the clue token. Also when you need to place a clue token on a location that has a gate, you do not place the clue token.

1) Yes. Also if you close the gate without sealing it.

2) Clues can't appear if there's a gate at a location, And a gate opening destroys any clues that are there. The order would be "fight/evade monster", "enter gate".

If there's two clues, a monster, And no gate, then the order is "fight/evade monster", "get clues", "have encounter"

Good job using more than one investigator. It will prove to be a much more enjoyable experience.

1. "Elder Sign"ing a gate closed is still closing a gate. So the monsters are removed.

2. First off, clues should never be on gates. When a gate opens at a location, that location loses its clues, and no more clues can appear there until the gate is gone.

Second, you don't enter gates on the movement phase. This happens during Arkham Encounters. So you would wind up dealing with the monster first.

Third, when you move to a location with both monsters and clues, you have to deal with the monsters first.

Great response! I love this community...I can continue with my game..lol

Ok I see that I was putting clue token on gate when other gates open and directed me to..so I removed those..

Monsters removed as well....

Running three characters is working alot better than trying it with one.
