I am new to the forum, and semi-new to the game. My character is a DH character who just recently found a rather broad warrant of trade and a whole bunch of thrones. In the course of the designing my ship, I looked into the new book, Battlefleet Koronus, and had a question about the Geller Field. What effect does the warpsbane hull have (i.e. does is supplement the Geller field or replace it?) I want to make sure that my Geller field has the smallest possible chance of failing, because my charecter has managed to make a special "friend" in the warp.
Geller Fields- Questions
It replaces the Geller Field, but since it does everything a normal one does and more, it's pretty much the best you can get.
It's GellAr, not GellEr. Ross has noted that the spelling with an E is an error that is being corected in the newer books.
@ HappyDaze-Sorry about that. :-) I'm doing homework, playing gemcraft, and preparing for the next game, so I didn't really check. If it will make you feel better, I'll let you punch me in the jaw. ;-)
@MILLANDSON- So I can safely assume that if I drop the cash on the warpsbane hull, I can cut out a gellar field altogether?
Yes, I believe you'd just have to get the Warpsbane Hull, not both.

The Waprsbane Hull is an add on to a standard Gellar Field. In addition to the standard miracle of technology, you also have a miracle of faith to help keep the Warp at bay.
Of course, there is no way to be totally safe in the Immaterium, but it is better than nothing.
@MILLANDSON- Thanks a bunch.
Warpsbane hull 'includes' a gellar field in its design, in addition to that theres the wards slapped all over the ship. Its really nice. The fact that there is a 'gellar' field component also means it can get blown up. Also look at Into the Storm for the Emergency Field.

What? No. The Warpsbane Hull is an Essential Component of the Geller Field subtype. Since you can only have one Essential Component per ship, you don't have to buy both the Geller Field and Warpsbane Hull.
I think he means the Warpsbane hull generates it's own Gellar Field without the need for a separate component of the same name

Nah. No need for violence. I just try to point out some of the common spelling errors that keep creeping into the books.
