Dunwich Horror In Development?

By cadamec, in Arkham Horror Second Edition

I have given up trying to find a copy of Dunwich locally or on the internet. They just do not seem to exist (for a reasonable price.) Why is it listed as 'In development' on the upcomming page? Shouldn't this just be a straightforward reprint? How much longer will we have to wait before we see this hit the shelves?

Sorry for the double post. Not sure how that happened...

As of this moment it is just a straight reprint. The Curse of the Dark Pharaoh is getting a rewrite but there is no reason at the moment to think Dunwitch will. Of course the reprint should be soonish.

I agree. I just thought it was weird that it was listed as 'in development'. Makes it look like it will be a year before we see it....

This is amazing news because I "could have" gotten it off of Amazon, for a regular price, right before it went out of print. Then when it went out of print, Cardhaus said they had it in stocked so I got all pumped and ordered it only to get an e-mail saying they sold their last copy a few hours before I ordered it :|

Since then, my quest for it has been of grotesque obession

Really hope they do make this soon, as I'd love to have access to the Injury/Madness cards in particular. I hear about those so much!

Since they are doing reprints and revisions i am just going to wait for them to do them before I buy it.

Actually Cadamec, from lurking on Ebay & BGG I've seen quite a few auctions that have recently ended that were pretty reasonable price-wise.

You could probably snag a new or used copy now at a reasonable price now if you need to get it. happy.gif

Not to mention Duniwch isn't getting REVISED (that we know of). It's just getting reprinted. So it'd be the same thing you're getting at the other stores/e-bay

I had searched everywhere in the city for a copy of Dunwich Horror, to no avail.

Returning to my study, peturbed and in no small way disheartened from my fruitless investigations, I grew increasingly depressed.

As I sat in the darkness, lit only by the glow of the screen afore me, I learned of it's imminent reprint and return.. pondered on the horrors soon to be discovered.. the dark secrets within... trembling, my mind whirled with fragmented and half recollected tales of that accursed place!!!

One can only await the restocking of DH with feverish anticipation.

@Necronomicon,

I hope this message finds you in a better condition than I now fare. If you are reading this, then I fear that I may be already lost. Since my initial investigation in this unfathomable mystery, I see that there are more recent entries in the list of 'upcomming' titles that have superceded DH to the printers. (Upcomming from where, I wonder? From deep, dark R'lyeh where unscrutable Cthulhu slumbers?)

But that was not the greatest of my sanity blasting discoveries. I let out a dreadful and tortured scream as I saw that DH was still listed as 'in development'!

Ha ha ha, this cracked me up. You gotta love the ol' "putting the last, scariest words in italics" effect. Oh Lovecraft, you big ball of ham.

As for Dunwhich Horror, I apologize. I did a couple of quick searches and brought up dozens of Dunwhiches for sale, but all of them "out of stock." I guess it is a drought of DH right now. There's one on ebay for a reasonable price... for now:

http://shop.ebay.com/i.html?_nkw=dunwich+horror&_sacat=0&_odkw=dunwhich+horror&_osacat=0&_trksid=p3286.c0.m270.l1313

And below that, one selling for 3x it's original price... yeesh!

I never got that.

I mean why offer a sale at such an exorbitant price? That way leads to madness! happy.gif

Still, if he gets a sale more power to him I guess. preocupado.gif

Supply and demand. When things are in short supply (like, say, the Wii in the early days) people know they can get a higher price from people who want it right now .

I can vouch for that. I once paid 160$ for a copy of Betrayal at House on the Hill. Then two years later they came out with a new edition... ouch.
