Revised Rules question

By Saifur, in Tannhauser

Hello , i got couple questions, thanks in advance to all who take some time to help me out here

1. In capture the flag mode , rules say you put flags on the objective circles on the board. There are only 2 of those , and victory conditions for this mode are that the team who scores 2 flags wins. I dont understand than , after the first flag is captured , players are supposed to place new flags in those objective circles ?? honestly , i cant see any secondary "silver colored " objective circles on both sides of the game board ....

2. Rulebook says you need to place all crates that does not have command points on actions points on the board. Again , there are only 2 of those ???? So i place only 2 ? ( i have the original game without any expansions ) Same thing for objective mode game - 4 primary and 2 secondary objectives, where do you place those when there are only 2 objective spots( the circles with the small prints of paws ) and only 2 action circles on the board ?? There are also only 2 entry points ...

3. Items that do not have yellow- black colors on the border can be used multiple times during game and do not drop upon character death ?

4. Extra ammunitions is used to make one attack grants a free attack without paying the cost of your one action to make it ? So when you activate that character you can actually make 2 attacks in same round ( one attack using the ammunition and one normal attack ? )

10 people looked into my postno one bothers to answer ? Come on guys , is it really that hard to spend 5 minenlighten someone with your knowledge of this game ? Help is greatly appreciated !

Don't worry I'll try to help.

Question 1, check the revised rules in the back are the "tactical maps" they should tell you where the objectives. You can also check my blogthe images in the "How To" catagory should have some pic to help.

There are 2 action circles, 2 entry circles, 2 primary objective circles, four secondary circles, on both sides of the base map, all but entry circles are black circles.

Question 2. I'm a little confused what page are you quoting?

Question 3. They are not ever droped for any reason. As to their use check the specific rules for each item, as it candoes vary.

Question 4. Yes you can make two attacks, you could even make three if you pick up some ammo from a crate.

I hope that helps some; I have lots of beginner info on my blog, the link is in my signature.

Regarding my second question - during the board setup , rulebook says you have to place crates on all action circles. There are like 10 crates ( with no command points on the back )only 2 action circles ??? So you place only 2 crates ? i mean 10 characters and only 2 crates ? You do place those crates on action circles only , right ? There are only 2 of those on both sides of the board ...

Ok that kinda depends on game mode, in Deathmatch you place crates on all objectiveaction circles, in most other modes I believe you do only place two.

One note: about the character to crate ratio, unless you have an empty invetory slot you can't pick up a crate, since you rearly have an empty slot, you don't get to pick up much, other than the occasional CP, often two crates is more than enough.

My last point of confusion, is I don't remember a rule saying to use only the equipment onesnot the CP ones, but I'm not looking at the book at the momemt.

But here's a good rule of thumb about crates, if an objective is not going to be used for anything else stick a crate on it.

If anyone dissagrees with that assesment, please chime in.

Thanks for all the info mate. Now one last thing - the game turn endsCP refreshment phase , overwatch etc start when all 5 unionall 5 reich players have been activaredfinished all their moves ,after each player moves 1 of his characters ? Game starts , each player take turns moving his characters , when all 10 ( 5 for each side ) have been activated , turn ends and refreshment phase begins ? Or Reich player moves 1 character , than Union player moves 1 character , turn ends , refreshment phase starts etc ? It really isnt very clear in the rulebook ....

A complete game turn is: Refresh Tokens Phase, Set Overwatch, Initatiave Phase, Players move, turn ends after all 10 characters have moved.

I think that's right I don't have the book in front of at the moment.

Hello to all and thanks for your help in advance.

Sorry at first for my englisch, but i am German and my englisch is not so good (long time ago that i learned at in school)

Regarding "extra ammunition" I have an additional question. Unfortuannly I only have the PDF which is a free download from FFG, not the complete Rulebook. So maybee the question is stupid an well known by you. If so - sorry for that.

We play yesterday an game Union vs. Reich with the "New Rules". My Friend play Tala Aponi with Combat Pack. He come on the same path as my Eva/Martha Krämer, Stamina Pack. As his Action he use Talas TNT 440gr to hit Eva/Martha. Luckly she survive with only 2 hits. I use my last CP to make an counterattack, but unfortuannly no hit to Tala. Then my Friend use "Extra Ammunition" to shoot to Eva/Martha with his M3 Automatic Weapon and lucky as he is, he killed Eva/Martha.

So we talked about this, if this is legal attack and we decide for this game, that it is legal, but we need an clarification, because this makes Tala extrem strong. As you can see, you get an extrem good chance to kill an opposite figure in one round and pick up the thrown equipment in the next round (you get 2 free slots).

Many thanks for your kind help in advance.

with best regards

extra ammo does indeed give you another attack, and can be very deadly, and dont worry about your english, its better than my german :)

you really do need either the new rules book or the pdf rules, i prefer the book as its just better to flick through all the time.

the revised rules will tell you a lot more than the free one, also virtually all equipment packs have changed, some quite a bit, and so you are really using 2 different rules at the moment which wont help you.

Many thanks for your kind help. I will check to get the new rules here in germany. Its not so easy for us, because my local dealer has to order them via USA. All games which will sell here are with old rules, and the new rules are unknown. :( This makes it not so easy for us to play right. To order for me in USA is also quite a problem, because FFG want 75 USD for shipping to germany the rule book, so thats why i use the free download and the cards which was made by user "droesler".

once again, many thanks for help.

with best regards
