Can you chain repeated "Evasive Maneuver" cards against the same attack?

By Alane, in Battlestar Galactica

During our BSG game last night, we were confused by a game rule. Unfortunately victory hinged on this question, leaving us uncertain which side actually won our game!

The text of the Pilot "Evasive Maneuver" card reads as follows: "Play after any viper is attacked to reroll the die. If the viper is piloted, subtract two from the new roll."

In this case, Starbuck was defending several civilian ships from a swarm of Cylon Raiders. A Raider fired at Starbuck's Viper and scored a hit. The player used an "Evasive Maneuver" card to force a reroll... and the Cylon's reroll was ALSO a hit, even with the -2 penalty.

Question : At this point, can Starbuck use ANOTHER "Evasive Maneuver" card to force a THIRD (and fourth, and fifth...) roll on the same attack? Or is the reroll the final result?

Thanks for any help. My group is eagerly waiting to find out who won our game! gui%C3%B1o.gif

In my games we have always allowed multiple evasive manouvers as you decribe it. I don't see any rule against it. Other similar card abilities like "declare emergency", "tactical planing" and the errataed "Executive order" explcitly says that only one card is allowed per turn/skill check/die role.

Agree. Starbuck can be as evasive as she wants to be (which is usally not much)

We play it the same way as well.

We also allow multiple rerolls. Those red cards have to go somewhere.

Others could also play evasive maneuvers for her. Handy when you have one viper protecting a stack of civvies from an onslaught of raiders.

I also play with multiple evasive maneuvers.

If you played Strategic Planning on a roll to hit a viper, and then someone plays Evasive Maneuvers, do you get the +2 from Strategic Planning on the re-roll?

I ask because the FAQ says that if you use Strategic Planning and Helo uses his ability to re-roll a die, you also get the +2 on the re-roll.

I would say you do. Obviously playing a Strategic Planning on an attack on a Viper easily exposes you as Cylon, however.

If you are Pylon you could play evasive manouvers on the roll if the raider missed too.

That's what I said. Also...

Pylon:

Pylon

Cylon:

Cylon

When in doubt, it's always the one with the boobs.
