The house is on fire

By Nerdmeister, in Mansions of Madness

Just reviewing the rules and something stands out for me:

the description of the fire condition in a room specifies that any investigator who wish to enter a room on fire must pass a willpower check or gain 1 horror token. After this he can freely move about the room on fire (still taking damage but not needing to do willpower checks). What isn“t mentioned in the rules is wether or not an investigator who wants to enter a room on fire from an adjacent room on fire needs to roll willpower. If I read the rules as they are printed then investigators should indeed make checks for moving between rooms on fire but you could also interpret the rules as if he has to make a willpower checks for moving into a location on fire and can then move freely about inside the fire (including adjacent rooms). Which of these approaches should I be using?

Any and all feedback will be appreciated

I could see it both ways.

Steeling your nerves you dash through the firey room..as you open the door your horrified to discover the hallway you just entered is on fire too.

on the one hand running through more fire is scarier then less...

however whats worse ...staying in a room on fire or running into another room on fire.......seems like if your already doing one why not the opther.

however I read it as every room. kind of like if a monster keeps coming through a door at you forcing you to make a horror check.

I'm with solitear here, rules say if you want to enter a room on fire, WP test. Leaving a burning room to enter an adjacent burning room, you're still entering a burning room, so need WP. You can move within spaces inside a burning room free of WP tests, but each burning room forces a WP roll.

Thanks for the feedback. Think Ill stick with every-room-gives-a-WP-roll for now.
