What to read or watch

By Major Mishap, in Dust Tactics

Whenever I get into a new wargames project I go the whole hog, watching films and reading books, so what suitable films or books do you recomend that are based around the Dust Tactics theme - if any?

History Channel's different series on the nazis and the occult/ufo's. Weird Weapons.

movies -Rocketeer, Sky Captain and the world of tomorrow

hulu.com has hours and hours of documentaries and movies about WW2 , but also saving private ryan , patton , the logest day , the dirty dozen , kellys heros , pretty much any of the good WW2 moives to get ya in the right frame of mind .

yes , saving pvt ryan and the rest are normal , but they are really good WW2 genre mood pics , fuull of action , good stories , and with some interesting ideas for scenarios . despite DT being a wierd war game , not everything in it can be walkers , lasers , and rocket packs , there would still be atleast some normal stuff going on to .

and lets face it , who has seen saving pvt ryan and doesnt imagine recreating that beach landing scene , the village fight from kelly's heros , the africa battle scene from patton , etc............

but on hulu , you can also find a number of documentaries about some of the secret weapons and programs and personalities and such which is good for scenarios and campaigns . i spent a week before DT came out watching anything interesting on HULU related to WW2 which had tons of interesting stuff that i had not heard of before .

to the list i will add "outpost" , its a modern era zombie pic , but its plot centers on a nazi zombie program that is still "running" for lack of a better word .

ok, anyway, hulu do not run outside the usa!

-but there are others similar, of course...

I mean maybe it would better to create 2 lists .

One-the easy to find-with regular history

and another with parallel weird fantastic ww2

also, in my blog, I have some links to places in the web

Excellent!

This short trailer gave me some good scenario and RPG ideas right away. Wonder if anyone have links to floor plans for bunkers, submarines, WW2 ships, command centers, prisons etc? Considering making a series of scenarios for some friends where I am the Axis and the other 2 share the Allied forces, of course I will play all the bad and nasty Axis and handle all their weird weaponry and 'special forces'...
