The RTL rules state that the first card put into play comes at a cost of zero XP, and then subsequent cards all cost XP to put into play.. However with the Ascension plot, five cards are marked at a cost of zero. Has this been addressed in a FAQ or previously on the forums. Sorry to have to be redundant if thIis has been covered before. The web site has been responding very slowly for me since the transition to a different administrator.. I tried to do a search but after about 10 minutes the search still hadn't resolved, so I gave up. Should only one card cost zero XP? If so, which one... Thank you.
Ascension Plot Question
The conditions under which each card in a given plot may be played are listed on the back. The first card in the Ascension plot is that whose back side instructs the overlord to place it in the play area at the beginning of the game (or somesuch - my game isn't with me right now).
The four Temple cards, in contrast, each require a city to have been razed in order to be played; the point at which the zero conquest cost comes into play is after this condition is met (after one of your lieutenents has successfully razed a city). Then, at no cost, you may place the appropriate temple token on that space as your 'purchase an upgrade' step of the overlord's turn.
What the cards don't clarify is that no two temples can be placed on the same razed city, but I think that's fairly obvious - although knowing these forums, I'm sure there'll be people who will now disagree.

No there won't!
