Last night I trained a new player vs. Yig. Two issues though, I felt like playing the base board only, while making the game rules less complex, made the game last interminably long. Also, I just cut out the green deck entirely for final battle. That part actually went pretty well. I'm thinking about compromising and giving harder AOs a buffer of 2 or 3 randomly drawn green cards. Anyway, this would make me a lot more comfortable with final battle victories against the likes of Yig, Nyarlathotep, Ithaqua, etc.
Final Battle Variant (dumping the green deck)
Maybe 1 green card for every Doom token they have above 9? Makes it a lot easier to remember (was Glaaki 3 cards or 2?) so that it's based off of numbers instead of a judgement-based one. And do you randomly choose the green, or do you make it automatically a sinister plot? I, personally, would randomly choose the green(s). Makes it more suspenseful that way.
Then again, this is something I suggest yo try out and see how it works. After-all, I don't even have Kingsport yet :-x
Or the number of green cards is equal to the number of seals you have. Or use the green cards until you take off a certain amount of doom tokens and then discard the rest after you've removed that specific amount of doom tokens.
having as much green cards as seals seems to be an decent option. green are definitly less interesting than red ones.
Especially when one of the red ones is: "Ha ha! You lose!"

Okay, so a green card for every doom token over 10. I'd randomly draw the green (since there's a much higher chance you'll get to two red sinister plot cards (and The End of Everything this way).
My variant has stood the test of time. You're more likely to get a red card when you have fewer seals and as the battle lasts longer. But they can alternate.
I love the green cards. They have great theme to them. I just don't want to see ALL of them EVERY battle.
