Luckiest game?

By mi-go hunter, in Arkham Horror Second Edition

First of all, sorrry for somewhat stealing your topic Hyoushitsu, but since there is a thread for the unluckiest game, why not the luckiest?

Last game, luck was incredibly on my side. There were 6 investigators with Nodens vs. Chaugnar Faugn with the BGotW herald with all the expansions in play (ignoring the CotDP mythos cards). At first the struggle seemed incredibly futile and pointless, but things took a better turn. First Barnabus Marsh appeared. Of course, he went down quickly and a doom token was removed. Then, Charlie Kane got a cult encounter that would devour him but would remove a doomer. He willingly obliged and a new investigator was drawn. Then Carolyn Fern got the EXACT SAME cult encounter soon afterwards (if I'm not mistaken, there's only one of those in the entire deck). She then proceeded to kill herself to remove another doom token. Finally when Sister Mary received a blessing, the Nodens Blessing card (you might have saw this coming) removed a doom token!

The game ended with a sealing victory with 11 out of 12 doom tokens on Faugn's doom track (well, not including the elder signs we used at the very last turn of the game) 4 tokens on the Deep One rising track, 2 rifts that were close to opening, and the Dunwich Horror was released screaming its head off, and the terror level was 7.

That game almost seemed like some divine power (Nodens perhaps?) had saved us from the brink of death.

With Carolyn dead and Mary alive, can really this game be called "luckiest"? ::laughter::

Hey, no problem! I just find the times in which the Great Old Ones stamp their foot down on us hard to be more interesting. ^^

My luckiest game.... There's one that comes to mind. I can't remember a lot of the specifics, but I remember how it generally went.

Darrell, Akachi, William and Carolyn against Y'Golonac and Father Dagon. I was actually rather disappointed in this game, because I figured with a setup like that it might be a little tricky, especially with Kingsport to deal with. But basically everything went our way. No one ever went to Kingsport or Innsmouth.

Darrell blasted his way through a gate with his Shotgun on the first turn, Akachi snuck her way through the other gate Dagon opens. William started with a good weapon (can't remember what it was... might've been the Lamp of Alhazred), so he swept the streets rather efficiently after 2 monster surges. Even the tome Carolyn was forced to draw (I think it was Livre d'Ivon) while picking up clues somewhere didn't break our stride. A couple Akachi sneak checks later and all the gates were closed in 5 turns, 7 Mythos draws.
