Painted Investivators
You have inspired me to paint! So I'm almost done with my investigators and halfway through the baddies.
Question - Do all the figures actually fit in the box glued to bases? I haven't glued any of mine down yet, but was planning to when done painting them. Without them glued I wound up removing some of the larger creatures to get everything to fit.
Thanks for the inspiration!

Yep! Check this out
Cheers dude btw! Really glad you're having a crack at it! It's really cool watching it all come together. You'll have to post your figures!
Next batch..... Really fun to do! Look great in the flesh (a little dark on my phone camera)

Finally I've got some minis to show you as well ![]()
Games Workshop Foundation and regular line, plus their Washes.
Adjusted color in Photoshop to be more like iRL, but it's still not 100% what they really look like.
btw, Harvey's green suit was one of the first things I painted, thinking I'm creative (and that green fits the old chap), just to realize that two of you people already painted him green. Nobody likes the brown suit he wears in canon, eh?
Those look like insanely good paint jobs!! Congrats. I think I just lost 2 sanity points. Awesome.
They're pretty awesome! Really clean, I like the way you've taken a slightly bolder approach to the colouring. Mine can look a little washed out unless you really look hard. Yours look like they have a stronger and more vibrant colour. Bravo my good man! ;-)
BTW! More images from my stock... Not far off finishing so I thought I'd do a few good photo's of the set so far. Missed out repeat figures...no point in showing six of the same character really.

Plus a new photo of the maniac... It looked too saturated on the first photo's

Work in progress... Really nice to be working on the big models now! I'll post the finished work once I've added the detail.
Heh, thank you!
Regarding the bold approach to colors, I have to say that yours, Rossin, look *much* brighter than mine. Especially your Jenny is wearing a blue dress, while mine might get overlooked by a car at night, it's so dark.
I kinda did this on purpose, though, because I tried to limit the range to dark tones for the bigger parts of the miniatures, to facilitate the atmosphere. Dark enough to make them dreadful, but light enough so they're not only wearing a black base coat ![]()
Don't know whether I've got that right or not, will see as soon as some friends from that miniature games company see them.
Since I'm already posting, I'll admit that I love the way your Maniac turned out and your Hound is astonishing as well. There's a flavor of "I shouldn't have eaten that last mushroom" surrounding him ![]()
Also, one of my cats thought Kate was a toy and attacked her. Not really sure what to do now. The bite mark are gone, but the paint is ruined. *sigh*
Thinking about scratching down the paint job and restarting. Guess I can't fix this. Or just get my hands on a pre-painted Kate and modify that one.

*digs out old thread* Finally another game coming up (**** you, Thesis!) and I remembered that I did not finish my set of investigators. Fixed that now!
Toned manually to make up for my lack of camera skills. The colors on the miniatures are now as natural, just the background deviates a bit.
I'm not satisfied with Kate's face (which, gladly, can't be seen up close when gaming) and the lack of eye catchers on Gloria. I expected the green dress to shine out a bit more, but due to the lack of depth and my fear of screwing up on the highlights it's a bit, let's call it "flat". But that's partially true to the shape of the miniature anyway, since the folds aren't very deep.
Well. Can't change it any more, already sealed them ![]()
Btw: During the painting process, Kate was attacked by my cat and severely wounded. I filled the bite marks with putty (GW's Green Stuff) and removed all paint in a long process of cleaning with water + soap + a soft brush. Cautiously removed the last bits of paint with my nail and modelling tools.
Was unsure of whether the mini would be damaged or not by this process, since scratches could show up through the paint. But as you can see, I managed to not completely destroy the miniature.
